The Smok Nord X Kit 60W is the evolution of the Smok Nord 2 Kit from 40W.
Its color range and design follow the style of the previous generation. It remains a compact device, the overall dimensions are not very different from those of the Nord 2.

It integrates a 1500mAh battery, with the same capacity as the Nord 2 Kit, but the power has increased from 40W to 60W. Compared to the previous single button layout, up / down adjustment buttons have been added.
To view the most relevant vaping data, the mod is equipped with a 0.69 "oled screen.

The SMOK Nord X has a higher build quality, uses IP67 waterproof technology, can withstand 15cm to 1 meter depth for 30 minutes and performs dustproof (IP67) and shockproof functions.

The zinc alloy frame is covered with acrylic and soft rubber superstructures, the texture of the panels recalls the skin of snakes.

On the first panel in question we find the Fire button located at the top and the writing Smok at the bottom.
The rectangular fire button is backlit in white and also performs notification functions.
- when the battery is low, the LED flashes 15 times (Battery Low)
- during switching off / on the led flashes 3 times GoodBye)
- if the resistance is lower than 0.3Ω, the LED flashes 4 times (Ohms to Low)
- if the resistance is equal to or greater than 3.0Ω the led flashes 4 times (Ohms to High)
- if the cartridge is not present on the battery, the LED flashes 4 times (No Atomizer)
- if the battery is short the led flashes 5 times (Atomizer Short)
- if the shot exceeds 8 seconds the LED flashes 5 times (Time Over)

The other panel shows (below) the name of the device, the battery capacity, the C E brand, the disposal logo.

Laterally, the soft rubber part has the task of protecting the device, it extends with a "U" shape from one airflow to the other, covering the bottom of the mod.

The Oled screen makes 0.69 "is immersed in this rubber protection.
It reports: the wattage, the Ohms of the Coil, the Volts, the percentage of remaining battery charge and the number of Puffs.

Below the screen are the Up and Down adjustment buttons, small and round in shape.

- Five clicks on the Fire button to turn the device on / off.
- Three clicks on the Fire key to lock / unlock the device.
- During the vape the time of the last puff is shown on the display for a time of 0.5s, before returning to the default setting.
- With the Mod unlocked you can adjust the wattage from 5 to 60W using the up / down keys arranged under the screen.
- The number of puffs is automatically reset when it reaches the limit of 999.
- When the device is charging, the display shows the current charge status and the remaining time to complete the operation.

In the image below we can see the protective rubber part reaching almost the base of the airflow in height.
The airflows are sized for Flavor and measure 10x2mm.

The support base of the mod incorporates the Type-C charging socket hidden by an IP-67 cap, the cap is marked in the opening direction.
The compartment / pod is held to the mod by four French screws, on the bottom there are the contact pins, the floor that surrounds them seems to be designed to be waterproof.

The Nord X comes with two pods with a capacity of 6ml.
Depending on the Pod used, it is possible to accommodate RPM 2 coils or the classic RPM Coil.

Both the RPM2 and RPM Pods mirror the Pod compartment and thanks to the design and their precise conformation they fit perfectly with the Mod.

A practical "press and pull system" is provided for both Pods and for the insertion of the Coils. The RPM2 cartridge (right in the photo) has a specific insertion / coil hole, larger than that of the RPM cartridge.

Cleverly the drip-tip has a suitable diameter and differs between the RPM and RPM2 tank. This is to suck in the right amount of air based on the type of coil inserted.
- Drip-Tip RPM2 ø7.5mm.
- Drip-Tip RPM ø5.5mm.

Both Pods thanks to the large transparent surface ensure great control over the liquid level inside them.

The refill is quite easy, the rubbers are marked in the opening direction and the hole below is of adequate size for most dispensers on the market.

Coils:

Also the new Nord X Kit uses the Coil RPM2 Meshed 0.16Ω 25-50W with Best at 40W introduced with the Mod Scar P3.
The other Coil available in the Kit is a classic RPM Mesh 0.4Ω Best 25W, no range indicated.

The 0.16Ω RPM2 is a coil with a really flexible use, aromatically valid and incredibly able to work perfectly at only 25W / 30W.
I must say that the first time I tried it on the Scar P3 I was surprised.
Respecting the Best of 40W that Smok indicates for this Coil, its behavior becomes optimal, the production of steam is very high and dense clouds of steam are produced.
The steam is hot with smooth puffs like oil, it works well with both 50/50 and 70/30 liquids.

The Coil RPM Mesh 0.4Ω 25W was introduced at the time of the RPM40. Also this coil has a flexible use, at the indicated "best" of 25W, the efficiency is optimized, the steam production is satisfactory, the DTL puff is of the restricted type and the aromatic yield is discrete.

No particular problem with the production of condensation, just dry at the end of the day. Smok and its coils turn out to be among the best in this respect.

The built-in 1,500mAh battery seemed to me to last quite a lot even using it at a constant 40W, moreover it is quite quick to recharge, for a full charge cycle it takes about 75 minutes.

Final conclusions:

Although I am not particularly fond of Pods, I must admit that this new Nord X kit is comfortable and has potential if used in Flavor, it will certainly be appreciated also by those who, with the RBA base (sold separately), want to dedicate to regenerations, without giving up an excellent level of safety protections and a gigantic liquid capacity of its 6ml cartridges-tanks.
