I’m sure I should be posting this on the coil thread but nobody ever reply’s in that group.

So I used Q4 that came with tank and loved it at 55w but my juice gunked it up after a week. I tried the V6 and it required a much higher wattage (80w) to get good flavor/cloud. Now I’m on the T10 and wtf is happening. This is best 80-110w. At 60 I get best flavor ok cloud. I bump it any higher (I went to 87w) and it’s huge cloud with muted flavor. I thought this was supposed to handle better than it is.

Anyone else experience this nonsense?!!

I would suggest getting into rebuildables. This way you can get much better flavor and when you build, you able to do it to how you personally would like it. Using tanks that have factory coils makes you have to vape according to how they make the coil you buy. Also wire is very cheap when you rebuild and so is the cotton, compared to buying a package of factory coils when you would need to.

Factory coils come with a suggested wattage range or "best at" range, but I have yet to see any state "best cloud" or "best flavor" recommendation. Even if they did, it would depend on the make-up of individual juice used. And there are no vaping laws that say one must stay within those ranges.

So if you want "best flavor", go with your 60 or so watts.
If you want clouds, go with your 87 or so watts.
Feel free to change it between the two as you desire.
And if you want to find a "middle ground" for both, set it around 74 watts and adjust slowly from there.

You may find a sweet spot you are good with or you may find any particular tank/coil just won't work as well as you would like with certain juices. It's all just part of trying to find your "perfect vape."

RTAs do offer great flavor, and (after the learning curve is complete) they're easy to use, and the ability to tailor one's build to one's tastes is fantastic). And, much less expensive that the (usually quite expensive) factory coils. If you want a subohm experience where you can really dial in the vape, I'd suggest an Engine single coil deck to start, they're fairly inexpensive, can be quite cloudy, and get great reviews for flavor. They're also easygoing and don't tend to leak. They can be a great "starter" RTDA and they consistently get pretty great feedback from users.

The problem with some smok coils is that it can be hard to dial in "the best vape" for you without some pretty high wattages, that burns through juice and coils, especially if you are chain vaping. You could try a less sweet, clear juice and see if your coils last longer (although, that sometimes isn't ideal when quitting, if you have a juice you really like and it's a coil gunker, as the right juice is pretty important.

If you want to stick to drop in coils, I might recommend getting a Uwell Crown (the original or the 3 version) as a backup vape (this will increase longevity of your coils if you aren't chain vaping on one tank and spreading the love around so to speak...) But, the Crown gets rave reviews from sub0hmers, it has a variety of coils to try, and the coils tend to have good life.

Whatever you decide, best of luck.
