The smok RPM160 Pod mod Kit, equipped with the brand new smok IQ-160 chipset is the latest updated version of the successful SMOK RPM series, offers the possibility of using two 18650 batteries and is offered in four different carbon fiber colors.

It comes standard with a 7.5ml pod and two 0.15ohm coils.
Among the accessories line there is an interesting regenerable RDTA Pod with a capacity of 5.5ml (available separately).

How RPM 160 is made:
The rectangular zinc alloy frame is joined in every corner, the shapes on the sides have been designed for good ergonomics, the width is contained, the height seems remarkable, if we compare it to a normal two-battery mod with atomizer of equal capacity, one realizes that even in height the Smok RPM 160 is not excessive.

The front side below the pod shows one of the two opposing and non-adjustable airflow slots (2x 12mm x 3mm).
The front panel in plastic material with carbon look effect houses the services. The fire button is slightly protruding rectangular in shape, comfortable and with good tactile feedback. The 0.96 "Oled TFT screen offers good visibility and all the useful information for vaping in VW mode. The Up / down keys are part of a comfortable rocker arm. The USB port at the bottom, allows a balanced charging of the batteries.

On the back, starting from the top, we find the other air-flow slot and the carbon look panel with the writing "RPM 160" at the bottom.

The side view of the RPM 160 shows a good coupling between the panels and the frame, even at the top, we can see how the edges of the mod are well connected to the Pod.

The compartment for the pod seems well insulated, it is screwed to the frame by 4 screws, in a slightly off-center position there are the two spring-loaded and gold-plated contact pins. The magnets are raised and generously sized.

The base on which the RPM 160 rests consists of the hatch to access the battery compartment.

The opening is sliding, the closing block is reliable and precise, all polarities are clearly marked.
Note: Always use the same model and brand of batteries on your mods.

The cartridge of the RPM 160 is made of PCTG, offers excellent transparency and contains 7.5ml of liquid.

The good transparency of the Pod allows you to see the liquid from all angles, even from above. The Drip tip is cylindrical in shape with the right dimensions for vaping in Flavor / lung, unfortunately it is not replaceable.

The cap for the refil is positioned intelligently outside the Mod, so it will not be necessary to remove the cartridge for refilling.

At the moment this gigantic mesh coil is the only one available for this kit.

The Regenerable RDTA Tank with a capacity of 5.5ml is available separately, unfortunately I have not yet been able to test it.

How the Smok RPM 160 works:
The IQ-160 Chipset is simplified and intuitive even for beginners, it offers the only vaping mode that in VW.
To turn the mod on / off, click on the fire button five times.
If we want to keep the mod in our pocket, we can lock / unlock it by pressing the fire button for three times, in rapid succession.
With the mod unlocked we can select the wattage from 1 to 160W with the Up / Down keys.
Pressing Fire / Down together, we reset the number of puffs.
By pressing Up / Down together, we can lock the wattage.

The 0.96 "TFT screen contains all the information useful for the control:
- percentage of remaining battery A and battery B.
- Wattage Set
- Volt
- Resistance
- Number of puffs
- Last puff length

During the USB charging phase, the graphic equalizer shows the progress process with balanced charging of cells A and B.
Personally I always recharge with a separate charger to not unnecessarily strain the circuits of my Mod.

Final conclusions:

The biggest and most powerful of the RPM Mod Pods I liked in several respects, the size and weight are substantially less than that of a normal dual battery equipped with an equivalent tank. It appears robust, with good finishes.

The IQ-160 chipset is very intuitive and simple to use, very responsive and manages batteries optimally.

The Pod is transparent, contains the beauty of 7.5ml and as Smok has accustomed to me become, I do not detect any loss of liquid.
The refill system allows a quick refill without having to remove the cartridge.

The gigantic RPM Mesh Coil 0.15Ω 40-90W seems up to the situation and promises a very long life, at this point I vaped over 50ml of liquid 70/30 apple caramel without noticing the slightest drop in aroma, at 70W the steam is hot at the right point and the delivery is strong and dense with steam, this aromatic yield I find it even superior to the excellent Single mesh from 0.17 of the TFV16.

I would have preferred a replaceable tip 810 and the possibility of adjusting the air-flows, but I also realize that for the type of DTL vape, both the tip and the air-flows are rightly sized.

If you love these devices and are looking for a simple, inexpensive, powerful DTL system with a lot of autonomy, the SMOK RPM 160 is for you.
