I'm currently using EVODs (and I do have one Mini PT2) with my VV3/MVP2. Anyone have any thoughts on the T-Dux 2.0 Pyrex or the Pyrex Aro tanks? Also, the Smok and Kanger coils look to be pretty darn similar (I think someone in another thread commented that they should be interchangable.)

I'm not at the point where I want to worry about building my own coils. I'm mostly looking for some extra tanks that aren't overly expensive - I have a setup at my office and a setup at home (so I'm getting to the point where I don't have to carry all my stuff from one place to the other!) I like the idea of the pyrex (one of my EVODs cracked the first time I used it, but I might have loaded with a known tank-cracker) For some of the prices I'm seeing, I can get 2 Smoks (with different colors - to compliment my ever-changing moods.....) for about the price of one Mini PT2. I know many rave about the PT2 and the Mini PT2 - frankly, I am not noticing much difference between that and my EVODs (other than the Mini PT2 fits inside the MVP beauty ring a lot better.)

Thanks :vapor:

I started off with an ego kit from a local vape shop, and they included 2 Smok Tech Pyrex Aro tanks. I like them very much, and recently ordered several more, so I can have juices in rotation throughout the day. I have had no trouble with them whatsoever. They don't leak or gurgle.

I used them with my egos, then with my Spinners, and now I use them on my MVP 2. They fit right on my MVP 2, and I don't use the beauty ring. I don't know why they aren't more popular or talked about more here on the forum. Here is where I got mine:

Smok Tech Pyrex Aro Tank

I don't have the T-Dux 2.0, so can't say anything about them.

Awesome - thanks for the input :)

BTW, that's where I was looking, and I found the 5% coupon :)

Oh, I have a bunch of Kanger coils - I should be o.k. with those, right?

The Aro pyrex tanks are great. I got mine from that same site too and have one in every color. They work well, haven't had any leaks, and the flavor is good. I like that I can put in any juice I want and not have to worry about it cracking the tank. Don't think you can go wrong with these!

I love mine, too, and the colors are beautiful, if you're into that. I don't understand why more people don't have them myself. I see so many posts about troubles with other kinds of tanks, and these have really been hassle free for me.

Bugga, I've been using my Aros for about 10 days now, and one thing that I haven't gotten past is the metallicky (sp?) taste. I've tried cleaning the tanks pretty thoroughly. Any thoughts on what I can do to alleviate? I'm a little bummed that I can't swap out the tip, as I'm thinking that's where my issue lies. I LOVE that I can load it up and not refill during the day. They do have a pretty smooth and steady draw. I finally realized that the coils aren't interchangeable with the Kanger EVODs - but that's not the end of my world - just loaded up with a bunch from Hoosier E-Cigs (with a 15% Mother's Day discount to boot). Glad I've ordered - will be even more glad if I can get rid of the weird aftertaste.....

Thanks :)

I don't have much experience with Smok save for their cartos, which I prefer for the ease of priming compared to Boge cartos for my cartotanks. That said, I've read some good things about the Aro. Never got to trying it myself, but they seem to be popular.

Another glass tank that is cheaper then a mini protank would be the Aspire BDC ET-S. Coils are dual though, so they are a bit pricier. I've tried this one, but since I moved on to rebuildables and cartotanks, I didn't spend much time with it. My sister has been using it for the last few weeks though and I haven't heard of any issues. In fact, it's her favorite of all the clearos I sent her recently.

I have tanks with chrome tips too; I use some carto type tips from carto/cartridge refills; fits tight onto mine; before that I used to wrap plummer's mate over the tips.

I'm so sorry about your metallic taste problem. I think I must be one of the fortunate? ones whose sense of taste and smell has not yet returned. After 4 months without cigarettes, I still don't notice many of the things that other people talk about. I haven't found a metallic aftertaste. I did find that I didn't really like how cold the metal tip was when our weather was cooler, while I was in my car before it warmed up, but no bad taste.

wht vinegar does the trick for me to alleviate metallic taste and other stubborn stains
soak 8-10 min, rinse test repeat as needed...

I use the SMOK RBC & EBC and all the coils inter-change ??? wonder why yours don't

then maybe you might try/be interested in some of these

puf - thanks friend. I'll try the white vinegar (that stuff cleans out just about everything!). I found that the flange on the Kanger coils won't fit into the inner diameter of the Aro tank. Can't get the base to seat itself. Eh, not too worried about it. Besides, I decided to dissect one of my coils (I've not done this yet) just to see for myself what the pieces look like. Pretty COOL :2cool: I have just enough "nerd" in me that I might just have to pick up a bit of Kanthal and some wick (oh yeah, and a DMM)

Bugga, I'm finding I don't like the SS tip in HOT weather (burnie, ouch, ouch, ouch!)

Thanks to all for your replies....

oooooh, OK know what you mean then - that is the DIFF between all the Kanger bcc
and the Kanger T3S/MT3S, which require a different coil and on the flip side,
the MT3S/T3S coil will fit in all Kanger bcc's
- Kanger T3s/Mini T3s/MT3s

this cost me 1.67 @ walmart
- White | Peaches And Creme

then a lifetime of this (32ga)
- Kanthal A1 Resistance Wire - Lightning Vapes

you're gonna be so happy if/when you start making your own bcc coils
it's SO MUCH better

:) . :)

meter, etc
- Lightning Vapes - Florida - All the RBA Materials you need! Silica Wick, Ekowool, Kanthal Wire, and more!

Oh; that's worrisome; I thought it was the same coils; do you know if it works the other way though? Wait, which kanger coils are you talking about here, because among the kangers it is known that some of the coils for like t3s and mt3s are different from the protank/evod coils.

As for disecting the coils, you don't have to cut it open or anything, the top spire half comes off from the bottom half.

I'm not speaking from personal experience, but several members have mentioned that vinegar soaks can break the glue joints in the Protank. They didn't mention how often they had done this, or for how long.

I would agree with that thought...
just by using "wht vinegar" it would seem to be harmful (etching)
I shutter when I read people soak stuff for hours or even overnight...

when stubborn stains and such persist, most I do is
5-10 min bath and then a thorough rinse...

if an old flavor or metallic taste makes it so you don't want to use
something anymore, then the risk is tolerable... IMO

I am talking about the PT/EVOD coils. No, I haven't tried them the other way tho.

I did "dissect" by popping the stem, pullling out the bottom pin and the grommet/gasket that separates the two ends of the coil (I needed to see that in person, even though I'd read about it through other posts.) I don't remember where it is now, but someone posted a link that had a fabulous drawing of all the components (just like a cutaway from a biology class LOL)

I've now gotten comfortable dryburning my heads. Next is to pull the original wicks and feed cotton. Thundernoggin shared the same link on another one of my posts. It looks pretty easy, so I'm going to try this next.

Greatly appreciate everyone's feedback.
