I tried my new rda (just arrived today) and after a few hits my batteries stopped working, starts flashing after I press it with the atty on. So I opened the whole this since it's probably fried, yep, the chip has a bulge on it.

Anyone with this experience?

And what batteries should I use for a RDA? Mech mod?

What ohms did you build it at...Egos don't go well with low ohms.

If you want to go sub ohm you have to probably get a mech mod or the new Aspire battery that just came out.

Either way be sure to educate yourself before you dive into the world of subohm...it can be dangerous if you don't know what you are doing.

If you are going to be building there are several things you need to know/do.

1. Measure your build with an ohm reader or DMM BEFORE putting it on a mod (or ego battery) and firing it.
2. Know the amp rating of your battery and how many amps your build is pulling before putting your mod and firing it.

I highly recommend you spend some time with Baditude (one of our resident battery experts) and visit his blogs. Make sure you purchase an ohm reader and a voltmeter or DMM so you can measure your builds, check for shorts and measure the remaining charge on your batteries.

Baditudes Blogs. The blogs regarding mods and rebuildables are listed below:

BATTERIES - WHERE TO BUY

Only buy batteries from a reputable supplier (not ebay or Amazon) as there are many counterfeit batteries being sold. Here are several reputable battery suppliers in the US.
