Smok coming out with their own RTA

tank itself is 24.5mm in diameter all through, holds 4.5ml of juice, 64 x 24.5mm. Top fill just like the TFV4. juice flow control. NO top airflow control.

The build deck is removable. You can swap the 2 versions G2 & G4, both measuring in at 16mm in diameter. As of now SMOK doesn't offer the build decks as a separate purchase (04/05/2016).

G2 - You're regular velocity style build deck, larger post and post holes than the Griffin 25mm. Additional center airflow on the deck like the gemini.

G4 - a quad coil build deck. First of its kind? Looks a bit difficult to build and wick, will probably only fit 3-4 wraps with an IAD of 2.0mm...

Needless to say, I've got to get one of these. I held off on the TFV4 b/c I just wasn't a fan of their prebuilt coils nor their RBA. But this? 1 tank with the possibility of 2 build decks? I have a feeling this will be the new norm going on into the second half of 2016...removable build decks, think Boreas (not just some RBA).

Just got the G2 in the vape mail. Wicked the premade claptons coming in at 0.4ohms, 6 wraps, 2.5mm IAD. Vape is great. Cloudz, flavor. Build is good on this tank, butter smooth threads, love the top fill design. Wicking is the usual, like the griffin, gemini, all other new RTAs, just enough cotton so it moves with enough tension in your coils, just enough length so its in that juice flow ring but not all the way down into the juice flow holes.

Cons.

1. The bottom AFC & juiceflow is too tight, you really need to be careful or you might screw off your build deck while your deck is on the mod.

2. For some reason, this tank doesn't like to sit tight on either my Vaporshark DNA200 nor my RX200. Its more pronounced on my VS where if I shake the mod, the tank shakes with it fully wound down. Same thing goes for when the tank is on my RX200.

Ordered a black G4 before I found out about the cons but whatever, 25 bucks. Not too bad. I actually prefer the build, flavor, vapor more than my Griffin 22mm...just this shakey 510 connector..

[edit] I compared the 510 length to the Alleria, its the same.

Hope it's not a warranty void for the releaux like the tfv4

Do you have other mods to test it on

I do. So far I've only paired it with the vaporshark dna200 and the reuleaux rx200. Both mods fire the RTA. On the VS the RTA shakes, maybe its bc of the overhang, on the RX200 it doesnt.

Just compared the 510 length with my crown and they are essentially the same length. Maybe Smok fixed this? Don't have a TFV4 to compare it with.

I have bought the G4 this afternoon, it took so long to work everything out! I'm an experienced vaper and I know my stuff but gosh it was difficult to start going.. first of all, try one long bit of cotton, all the same bit of cotton and thread it through all of them, that's the best way to wick it really works! I've got HUGE clouds and I'm on 130w with a reading of 0.1ohms so yeah. The opening and closing of the liquid intake is TOO easy, it's not a good thing though, it makes for a leaky pocket and honestly? Every second you're not vaping this bad boy it's leaking.. it's leaks have leaks. It's bad but on a night chilling, on the beach maybe? Definitely a must have.. it's a great device. If you manage to keep the liquid intake closed whilst it's not needed and find that right balance of when you need to intake more as you would then it won't leak at all but yeah overall it's a good tank. It just neeeeeeeds patience.. and a lot of it at that.
