I have an M80+ with the 7.1 firmware but I don't use it for TC. From what I've seen on YouTube and other reviews of it the TC is very hit or miss. PBusardo did a review of the TC features and the wick literally caught on fire, which it's not supposed to do. If you do try to use TC on it first of all be safe about it and two use a nickel coil and do a DRY burn test on the wick before you actually put juice on it to prime it. If the cotton burns then don't use it.

Has anyone had any luck with the temp sensing on the m80? If so, what was the build and performance? Thanks a bunch for any help.
I use TC every once in a while with my M80+ with an Arctic tank w/.2ohm kanthal coils. It seem to work decent. I don't have an RDA yet but will have one this weekend to try out.

I am currently using the vAir-T .25 ohm type A coils on my Atlantis v2 tank, airflow wide open at the base. I first tried Temp Ni on my Joyetech eVic Vt at 500 degrees and 50watts and had great flavor and vapor performance for 3 ml of juice. I then tried the same setup on my Smok XPro M80 Plus with lack luster results. I wasn't getting very much vapor at all, so after bumping it up to 600 degrees and 60watts on my XPro, I got the same results. Unfortunately, I moved the tank back to my Joyetech to try it's setting again, I am am now getting virtually no flavor...tons of vapor, but not flavor which leads me to believe the coil is shot. I think I burnt it out on the Xpro with the bumped up settings. What I have been hearing on the interwebs is that the Xpro takes awhile to ramp up to perform as regular DNA chip mods do. I am going to change out coils here to see if that is definitely the case, but beware with the Temp control on the Xpro. I don't think it is entirely accurate. Hope this helps.

according to all the reviews I have read/ seen, the TC on the M80 is kind of bs, even with firmware updates - its a great little mod in wattage modes, but personally, I will NOT use it in TC based on all the info I have seen...

This is the exact reason why I got the eVic VT...I actually found it for the exact same price as the XPro. The M80 is now my backup/RDA mod.

Excuse me, you're using the TC mode with .2 Ohm Kanthal coils? And it works? There's a scary thought...
