Traveling with a friend this trip - she's asked a question I cannot answer. How come my vaping doesn't set off hotel smoke detectors?

This came up in a room where the shower steam set off the room detector. Later that same night I was vaping away on my SVD with iClear 30 making clouds of vapor but no reaction from the same smoke detector.

When I get home I plan to blow vapor on my own detector but does anyone know the answer?

Thanks again.

There are different designs of smoke detectors.

Smoke detector - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The most common is one that emits a light with a sensor opposite it and when and if the smoke, vapor gets too thick to block the passage of light, the alarm goes off ....why you shouldn't vape in an airplane lav.... they use that type.

Ionization type is looking for more particulates where water vapor might not set it off... There are others....
