Smoke Flavour?

Last night I fancied a change of flavour so I opened a 10ml sample I had for a try.

[h=3]Perique Black[/h]
£5.00
Price incl. VAT, plus delivery

A strong dark flavour probably the most similar to real anologue smoke.Available in a range of mixes

So this is the sample that I had waiting. As soon as I tried it I realized it tasted nothing like tobbacco.
It tasted of Black currents. I guess thats where it gets the "black" in its name from.
It was sweet and nothing like "the most similer to anologue smoke"

Has anyone else had weird experiances like this? I mean, ordering tobbacco flavour and actually getting Ribena?

Yes. Tastes are so subjective and e-liquids seem to have different results with different people. Perique black definitely has a distinct flavor, although I would describe it as peppery more than black currants. I have had some tobaccos that had definite undertones to them ranging from basil to one that I swear smelled dog poop as it lingered on the exhale. It's really hit or miss.

Hahaha could not agree more. Had a few coffee Vapes over the years that were 100% calling my taste buds to say"tastes like wet dog"

Funny stuff :)

Very many of the socalled "tobacco" flavours actually taste nothing whatsover like a cigarette. Some of the cartridges that come with kits and disposables actually taste like a light coffee or chocolate flavour. In this case I think it's more what someone trying to be an ex-smoker might find acceptable.

Even the full-on tobacco liquids that come somewhere close usually taste more like the actual tobacco rather than a burning cigarette. This is probably a good thing.

Some of the closest tobacco flavours I've had so far have been the Aussie Blue liquids (I'm in Australia) which I started with when I got my first kit. Ignoring the coffee flavoured "tobacco" cartomiser that came in the kit, the "drummer's rollie" tastes a bit like Drum tobacco in the packet. The "PS" (Peter Styvesant, I think) actually tastes disturbingly like a burning tailor made cigarette, and I think I'm growing to really dislike it. Even more interesting, the "bankers rollie" (Bank tobacco obviously) tastes _very_ much like a pouch of Bank tobacco smells, it's almost unmistakable. The bankers rollie gets more disturbing however. Once the clearomiser wicks start to backwash and the liquid in the tank goes dark, it starts to really smell like a burnt cigarette. Did you ever use those plastic cartridge filters that were supposed to condense the tar out of the smoke and hold it in a little resevoir? This smelt exactly like that in my pocket.

I'm now moving away from the familiar flavours I am used to, and looking for something different. I no longer care that it doesn't actually taste like a cigarette. At the moment I'm mixing a light smokey tobacco (flue cured), and adding cherry to it. Ribena is sounding a bit more attractive to me now than a full on tobacco flavour.

I'm thinking I've come a long way in 1 month. Cigalike --> Ego --> Ego VV --> Vamo2 in the mail. Flavours likewise: My drum tobacco flavour --> other tobacco flavours --> Yuck! --> DIY tobacco flavours with other things in them --> Maybe I should try a watermelon flavour or something.

I've got a Phoenix atty and some Vivi Novas coming with the Vamo so maybe I'll give the tobacco flavours another go around, but I think I've got $60 of juice here that isn't going to get finished barring a major catastrophe.

So, be careful with what you wish for, you may just get it.

A friend had the same question awhile ago when he purchased some Black Perique. In it's tobacco form it's known to have a fruity aroma/ taste and is sometimes used as a mixer in Pipe Tobacco. When used in DIY juices it's great but on it's own I really never liked it. As for tobacco flavored juices the only way you'll find them is through DIY...many times, while looking for this "taste", I discovered other flavors far superior to what I was originally looking for.

I have also found that most liquids that claim they taste like "the real thing" are not even close.
When I first started vaping, I was looking for a juice that tasted exactly like a cigarette.
From what I can remember, ovale's tobacco liquid was kind of close, and volcano's tobacco pure, but now I can't stand the taste of either, because they are too close to a cigarette(meaning they taste like crap). Both sitting on the shelf nearly full, hopefully I can give them away if any friends start vaping.

Exactly! And I'm sure someone will want them. Most of the smokers I first introduce to e-cigs pretty much say the same things... "I want one that looks like the cigarettes that I am used to smoking..." and "What juice would you recommend that tastes most like brand ******* that I smoke now?"

I call this phase one of "dealing with the monkey" (nicotine addiction associated with cigarettes). Many of them revert back to smoking analogs because they realize there is nothing exactly like a "real cigarette" other than a real cigarette. The more successful ones realize that with limitless flavor possibilities and a more than adequate level of nicotine that they can finally start abandoning their cigarette addiction in favor of e-cigs... by learning new habits to replace the old ones.

A friend recently showed me her cigalike she picked up at a local B&M. It smelled like a dirty, wet ashtray. She offered me a puff and I politely declined, with a smile... and went back to enjoying my Caramel Apple vape :D

Hey! Whatever works to get you to make the switch!
