Awesome forum! Thanks to all contributors. :thumb:

Found this place trying to dig up an alternate place to buy more parts for my Smoke Free brand e-cig. I have discovered after doing some searching/reading here that the base model I have is an RN4081 (I think?). My wife actually bought it from the local kiosk at the mall in a starter set that was $75 with one battery, one atty, a charger and a pack of 5 cartridges.

She is still smoking analogs but wants to quit. She likes the e-cig and prefers the cartomizers over the atty/cartridges. Problem comes in that I like it too! Goes great with the bourbon I like to sip in the evenings.

I called the guy at the kiosk wanting to get an extra battery and atty so we would both have one and he quoted me $105! This is more than we paid for the starter kit!

I see so many other options such as the 510 or the ego kits that are way less expensive and are obviously more popular than the Smoke Free brand. Any users here that have tried both the Smoke Free and the 510 or ego that can give me some insight on comparisons?

I like the smoother puffs I get on just the atty and cartridges vs. the cartomizers which I interpret the stronger throat hit (from the cartomizers) as being harsh. I have basically been dripping the e-juice we picked up from the kiosk and would probably prefer continuing to do this over using cartomizers. Any advantages on the 510 or ego style PV's considering I will probably drip and she will likely want cartomizers?

Many more questions but I will stop here and wait for some replies.

Well obviously you both need your own kit...at Liberty Flights, you can get a Riva510(ego style) for 29.99...it will come with 2 attys and 10 carts...then goto Crystal Clear Vaping and pick up one of their 15 cartomizer bundles(get the LR Boge2.0) for 20bux...with that bundle, you will get two free drip tips, a syringe and shipping...enter "ecf5off" and get 5% off that price and you will both have a system you prefer..........

Hi Sammy. Welcome.

This is my story. It's a bit similar to yours in that I started with a "mass-market" e-cig. Don't be discouraged!

Moral of the [long] story: I found that I actually love the 4081 cart, but all are not the same. I don't know how SmokeFree's carts are put together, but I know that the brand I started with, nJoy, has very cheaply made 4081's. They are plastic, the filler is ludicrously dry and susceptible to burning, and the atomizer just doesn't produce the vape I was looking for. However, I purchased a pack of 4081's from VaporsEtc.com (they can be found at many suppliers, shop around & get more feedback if you'd like) and they are amazing. They are constructed of metal, the filler material wicks fluid to the atomizer so much better, and gone is the burnt taste I had from the nJoy carts.

I also purchased an eGo after all the raves I've read here, and it too is an amazing PV. It is built like a tank and feels like a million bucks. I use it with both carts and tanks, and it produces slightly more vapor warmth than the 4081's on my nJoy battery. However, I actually prefer the taste of the 4081's on the eGo battery with an adapter. I get amazing taste & literally clouds of vapor that compare favorably with the eGo stock. I can't imagine how much more vapor I'd get with a dual-coil atty or an LR, but this does suffice for now.

Anyhow, I say cut your losses and definitely stop going through that mall kiosk, or any kiosk for that matter! Get some good 4081's and use your existing battery for starters, and get a sampler pack of e-juice from somewhere (check the reviews here and order what sounds good to you). By the way, if you still prefer dripping, make sure you don't do that too much on your auto battery as it might drip into the hole and kill it. I drip my eGo sometimes but still keep going back to the 4081's.

Good luck! Look forward to hearing from you.

Sammy, there is a vendor in Cumming Aqua vapor that carries 4081 stuff, found them after I bought a Smoking Anywhere from the mall. Give them a call and take a ride up there, they also carry 510 and 901 supplies and have a good selection of Dekang juice. It will give you and wife a chance to look at and touch some of the different choices.

A fellow Atlanta vapor.

Do yourself, and your wife, a favor and consider moving away from the RN4081 to a 510 threaded device like an eGo or Riva kit.

An eGo/Riva kit is MUCH less money. Much longer Battery life. And you will have Many more options of what you can attach to a 510 thread device. ie, Cart/Atty, Cartomizer, Tank, etc.

Don't get me wrong. The RN4081 is a good e-Cig. I had one. But the battery life of that size e-Cig is Terrible. And when I wasn't charging a battery, I was filling those tiny carts so I could get 2 dozen good hits before they were empty.

madjack - Thanks for the great links. I guess you like/use these suppliers? Is the Riva 510 the same as the Joye and is that what you vape with?

Thanks for the insight. I read your thread and it does appear we started about the same way. So you like the 4081 atomizer with cartridges better than the 510 setup on the ego?

The Riva 510 is not the same as Joye Ego. Joye Ego is a 3.4v device and the Riva 510 kits at Liberty-Flights are all new Eastmall kits w/ 3.7v batteries. Those Riva 510's are the most popular Ego clone (I have one too - heck under $30 for 2). I do recommend those Boge cartomizers with it for your favorite thinner juices.

And buy a 510 drip tip for testing juices on the atomizer (BTW - atomizers come with nasty tasting primer on them. To get rid of it - * Blow out the atty into a tissue, drip 3-4 drops on the bridge /\, let that soak in, vape mostly off without inhaling, and repeat that whole sequence to get the primer off. Then blow out again and re-prime with eliquid).

And at Goodprophets for 99 cents you should be able to get a 510 to 4081 adapter to use the 4081 cartos on the Riva.

Unless you have a solid identification (not just a "looks like"), only buy one pack of cartomizers first and try them. AzSmokefree and Goodprohets have parts and both may have black cartomizers, or atomizer + cartridges. Njoy (Npor, aka 2-n-1 in 7-11's) and Smokestik have prefilled cartomizers.

I am fairly certain that this is a RN4081 based on what I have read here on the forum. Here is a pic if someone can make a more positive ID?

This is actually the second atomizer I got from the mall kiosk. The one positive thing I can say is the guy at the kiosk is super nice and the kit came with a lifetime warranty. The first one burned out after only five cartridges! He replaced it with this one, no questions, which is bit longer than the original atty and has this number on the side. This one vapes much better than the first one that came with the kit. :vapor:

Thanks for the heads up on the local supplier! I will give these guys a call tomorrow. I wonder if there are other local PV shops around Atlanta? I mean besides the gas stations and mall kiosks?

I don't seem to have a problem with the battery life on the Smoke Free e-cig. I guess I didn't mention that I quit smoking analogs over 11 years ago! My usage is very light with the PV. I only pick it up at night when I am sipping some bourbon or having a beer. I have been puffing on it for about a month off and on and have even gone through days where I don't use it at all. It lasts me almost 24 hours before I have to recharge the battery.

The nicotine is more like coffee for me being a mild stimulant and offering me a chance to simply relax at the same time. I am not finding the e-cig to be very addicting unlike cigarettes. This is with the 18mg e-liquid btw. I guess I was just curious and picked it up one day, tried it and liked it. I must say, however, that I cannot go a day without my coffee though. :glare:

My wife is a different story. She has been smoking for 20 years or so and is going through about a pack a day. She really wants to quit but has not taken a liking to the Smoke Free e-cig...yet. She was running the battery down before work was over and going back to the Virginia Slims. Maybe she will like the power/battery life of a 510 or ego system better than the RN4081?

Joye 510 is a little ecig with the same charge as RN4081 (180mah). There is a long Joye 510 mega xl that is 280mah (and 128mm long with a cartomizer). Maybe two of those Joye mega xl batteries would hold her until she gets home. Again Boge 510 cartomizers are recommend and the slim 510 has to use the 3 ohm ones (not the hotter 2 ohm ones)

Ego and Riva 510 both come in sizes from 650mah and up (with the Riva 510 kits at LF being slightly higher voltage)

Look at the Riva 510 SE - they recently had some kits at Liberty-Flights with a 3-click enable/disable which would be handy for pocketing it or putting it in a purse.

Maybe she would prefer a Joye Ego - they do have some fun colors like pink.

But only you and she would know if she wants to vape a fat 14mm diameter+ model.

dormouse - thank you for the great feedback. PV Master fits you nicely! :2cool:

I will show her the pics of the ego, however, she seems to like something that is more like a classic analog in terms of look and feel. I guess we simply need to try one of the other options. Maybe the local shop here around Atlanta will let us test drive before we spend more?

Thanks again for all the great replies!

Also - if she likes what she's using now, just get some more RN4081 batteries and a charging cable she can use at work (with AC to USB if she doesn't have a PC). AZSmokeFree even has a manual RN4081 battery. Just search there for RN4081

And Goodprophets has autos in white and black.
The NEW GP Double Deuce 22 Battery RN4081

Whatever will get her enough charge and cartos with her so she can make it through the day.

It sounds like you are doing ok battery wise. But your wife needs more. Here's my thinking.

To get more battery life and stay with a RN4081 your going to have to buy more RN4081 batteries. Not too many other ways to do it. And you'll be limited to RN4081 Carts/Atomizers.

If you get a eGo/Riva kit your wife can go all day at work without running out of battery. The price of a eGo/Riva kit is about what 6 packs of cigarettes cost. So a eGo/Riva kit is not going to break the bank.

And if for any reason your wife doesn't like the size of it, she could allways get a couple of Regular 510 batteries and use them. Since the eGo/Riva and the 510 have the same threads, Carts/Attys or cartomizer work on either.

If you can find a shop in your area that sells e-Cig, hop in the car and check out a eGo/Riva. I think you will find that a eGo/Riva isn't that much larger than a RN4081 and fits Perfectly in the hand.

BTW - dormouse has been known to give very good advice.

Quick note - I called this company today and they no longer have the Georgia location. :( They only have a "store" in North Carolina.

I also emailed Awesome Vapor today to find out if they have a store. Any other local suppliers around Atlanta?

...sorry, I'm late answering but, yes I am using a Riva510, along with my wife, step-daughter, best friend and a co-worker...they are an improved(to my thinking) Joye eGo clone...the ones we have are 750mah models and have performed perfectly with low resistance cartomizers(2ohm Boges and 1.7ohm xl single coil Resurrectors/Rejuvenators)...if I were going to change to something else it would be the KGO w/1100mah batts from hoosierecigsupply or the 14650 E-Power from a number of vendors..........

Just a quick follow up. Here is what I ended up ordering to expand our equipment.

1 RN4081 Atomizer
1 RN4081 Mega Battery 280mAh, Auto, White/Orange led
5 High Capacity Blank Cartridges for RN4081
5 Blank Cartomizers for RN4081 and DSE103, White

This gives us at least two batteries, two atomizers and a handful of cartomizers. My wife had a chance to see the Ego/Riva equipment this past weekend and was not comfortable with it (too funky). She likes the "classic" RN4081 style PV that more closely resembles an analog. I am hoping this will at least get her going with enough equipment to take to vaping instead of the analogs. :2cool:
