After a lot of research I decided to go with a Johnson Creek Vea as my first foray with vaping. I know there are better alternatives available (specifically tank systems) but I thought I'd stick to something easy and work on dripping while I go through some pre-filled carts.

Anyway, I received my package yesterday and charged the batteries and started using the Johnson Creek original carts. It's only been a day and I have a package of sample flavors to test out but so far the flavor of the JC original alone is getting me to vape more and smoke the regular cigs less. This flavor has a sweet nutty taste to it and the smell lingers in the room. I went back to a regular cig as I'm working on mixing in vaping with my regular smoking and the smell of the juice had me wanting to go back to my new vea. I smoked the regular cig anyway and the experience of vaping with the JC original juice is already winning me over.

I know that each person's tastes are different and I don't want to come off as a shill for Johnson Creek or anything.....the message I want to send to my smoking brethren is that you will be amazed with the taste of these juices and how it will make regular cigs pale in comparison. Just you wait. I'm not off regular cigs entirely yet but I'm here to tell you that there is not only another way there is a way that you'll find more enjoyable. There is finally light at the end of the tunnel.

It's always interesting to see the transformation of a smoker to a vaper. The pros outweigh the cons by far. Just a matter of time and you'll will realize that you did more than just stop smoking :)

I'm glad you find the tobacco variants of use. I personally couldn't handle the taste. I figure since I was stuck with one taste for 20+ years it was high time I look into the thousands of other flavors available in the PV world :) Welcome to ECF, by the way!

I know what you mean, I started with a cigalike and some prefilled menthol carts. I don't even smoke menthol but I loved them. I didn't even want a regular cig.

As I started ordering some parts online for a ego twist setup I tried a few flavors from the places I bought my parts but they were nothing spectacular. I saw a few people recommend Vermillion River so I gave them a try and got a sampler, now I'm totally hooked.

If you like tobacco flavor you should check out their Kentucky vanilla blend and KY4.

If you want a little fruit flavor now and the the Texas watermelon and Malibu pineapple are both excellent flavors. I haven't tried dripping the pineapple yet but the watermelon tastes amazing dripped.

So glad you posted about the Vea. I have not seen any posts here from anyone using it.

I am a fan of Johnson Creek smoke juice & watched their reports on the development of the Vea. I do not have a Vea. At the time of their development, I was already using a suitable device. I was intrigued nevertheless.

I think for a newbie, it is so very easy to buy your device at the same place you can buy your cartos & juice. It is so much LESS confusing that way. Yes, you can find cheaper devices that do the same thing. And yes, you can find cheaper juice. But I have always had faith in the company & their products & customer service.

And btw welcome to ECF. We're glad you're here. Happy vaping.

Well, I was calculating that as a smoker the best way to do this was to try to replicate the real experience at first and then, as the vaping took over, move on to other flavors. I have a few boxes of the tobacco flavor so I'll be using those for the time being and I'll be working on the DIY route as well.

Thanks...I haven't cracked open the sample pack yet but I'll check to see if the Kentucky vanilla blend is there.

Yeah, the way I figured it I'll spend some $$ now on a simpler kit so that I don't get frustrated and then bail on the idea and the vea fit the bill.....the price was reasonable as well. I have no frame of reference beyond NJoy disposables so I don't know what is better than what but so far so good with the vea. My only knock would be that they send you an empty cart on one of the batteries and they should label it as such with a small sticker so that people don't get confused or think they received a dud.

Congrats OP and here's to your continued success.:toast:
I too am using the Vea and so far it's doing the trick for me. I started with a small cig-a-like and that got me down to 2-3 tobacco sticks a day. When I got my Vea in the mail that was the last day I had an analog and so far it's doing the trick! I took advantage of JC's Cyber-Monday sale and got the kit for @ $42. Not bad. My father, who smoked a pipe for as long as I can remember, liked my Vea so much that he got one of his own and is now smoke free as well! He just switches between Domestic and Tenn. Cured and that's all he wants. He's tried some of my other juices but didn't much care for them. He's old so the simpler the better.
I've branched out from JC's juice and found stuff that I really enjoy but I order the majority of my liquid from them. It's a little on the pricey side but I don't mind. I'm still saving $$ compared to what I spent on tobacco, and shipping is fast with them in Wisconsin and me in Northern Illinois.
Just FYI, if JC ever is out of stock of blank cartos you can use Boge/Smoktech cartos on the Vea batteries. Anything between 1.7-2.2 ohm from what they told me. During the Holidays they were out of stock a couple of times and I had to order some other brands. They work well but something about the Vea carto delivers a better flavor. /shrug.
Good luck and welcome to ECF. :vapor::)
