I have been smoking for about 5 years heavily now. I smoke menthol brand cigarettes, using Smooths, Menthols, or Crushes (very infrequently). I have blood clotting disorders and have discovered that nicotine doesn't cause the increased risk, other chemicals do, so I have turned to e-cigarettes. I saw a disposable type e-cigarette for those who want to try it out first. Can anyone link to a reliable disposable one? I don't want to waste my money on something that doesn't work.

Thank you for reading,

For what a disposable costs, You may as well look into a pretty well made cheaper priced model and just go for it! Many suppliers here and many have great business ethics! You can get a starter kit w/ everything you need to try it out for as low as $40- sometimes $35-!
That would be your battery, cartridge, atomizer, charger, and a few other things... If it doesn't work for you, it is definitely something you could sell on craigslist or in your local paper- There is even a F/S board here for members!
My husband has had a heart attack, has a stent, has been in the hospital about 5 times a year since 2006 for extended periods of time- this doesn't include his hospital stays for just a weekend or so... We have turned to the e-cigarettes and it is bliss- He hasn't had an urge for an analog at all- it is a bit toughr for me, but... My main concern was getting him off the cigs (we have been smoking for over 20 yrs, menthols, 100's, brands and strengths varied from highest/strongest to a bit lighter over the years but never totally quit- my husband did twice for a couple months but couldn't keep it up)
Good Luck! I know others here can give you some good/ better info. My opinion is the cost factor (if this is the reason right now)- Might as well by a kit for what the disposables cost... & get better performance from th eget- a disposable may end up turning you away from the e-cig due to it not having a lot of the better features and mechanics...

Well it depends on how long you are willing to wait. If your patient go to dealextreme.com and get a kit for like $12.95 shipped free or for something like $5.00. Be aware though that it can take a while to arrive, so if your in a hurry I would look elsewhere. This is the link for that kit:
http://dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.18431. They also have a single unit there that is a bit cheaper but once again I don't know the quality of it: http://dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.29043 Once again though if your patient and just want a simple introduction these are a good introduction, the first one listed many of the customers were quite satisfied with, I wish I knew exactly what model it is.

I know you can get a single battery, single atomizer, single charger, and 5 carts for a 510 for $32 shipped after using the coupon from innovapor.com and that will arrive in about 3 days, at least mine did. There a couple of others that you can get a complete starter kit with twice that for about $10 more as well. Good luck.

I can be patient, I am not in some super rush. I just am tired of health scares (always think I'm getting a blood clot) and would like to eventually be able to smoke these and not feel so paranoid. What are your guys opinions? I am open to any suggestions, I prefer menthol, actually will probably only smoke menthol, and something that lasts a decent amount of time but isn't outrageous.

I agree with Luv2CUSmile. Don't waste your money on a disposable. It will be almost half the price of a complete kit after the shipping.

One option is a 401 manual kit (2 batteries and 2 atomizers, *prefilled carts, and charger). You will get a good price at litecigUSA, along with great customer service, and you'll have it 3 days after ordering. M-401 Manual Starter Kit
*prefilled carts usually taste horrible, but you can reuse them with any type of e-juice.

You will also undoubtedly get recommendations for the 510. Nothing wrong with it, but the battery life is very short. That's why I recommend the 401 manual instead. Battery life is great, vapor production is awesome, flavor is fantastic, and it gives a good throat hit. Also, there are 2 versions of the 401. One is an auto, and is activated when you suck on it. But the manual is activated by a button on the battery, and will give you less hassle, and a more positive experience right out of the box.

If you decide to go this route, you will need some smoke juice to go with your e-cig. Although I use litecig for a lot of hardware purchases, and his juice is cheap, IMO you can get better juice elsewhere. I was a Marlboro menthol smoker for many years, and for a very good menthol, I recommend Vermont Vapor. I have tried 6 or 7 other brands of menthol and none compare. Vermont vapor also has sample sizes. I would suggest you try 5 or 6 samples to start. After shipping it might be $20-$25. Then you can get larger sizes of the ones you really like. Vermont Vapor 3ml Samples

Order your juice on the same day you order your e-cig. That way they should arrive the same day, and you'll be all set to start vaping. :)

Also, while you are deciding what to get, here is some good reading about e-cigs that will give you lots of good info.

On avg I think the avg person will go through perhaps 2ml a day if that, it all depends on how you use it as well as smoking habits. If your constantly filling carts your wasting a lot, but if your dipping or dripping your getting much better bang for your buck with less wasted. I would suggest you get a few 10ml flavors to try out and that should hold you for a while until your ready to order again.

I saw that cignot was out of the no-box 510, so I didn't bother putting a link up in my earlier post. But I would recommend the manual 401 anyway. If you would rather have the Dragon version, instead of the flat black at Litecig, then go to Truesmoker, and you can use the coupon code, Truevip for a 15% discount. Yeah it's a few bucks more but the coupon code helps, and you also get a nice carrying case with the Dragon emblem on it:)
I will say this, the Dragon just looks very cool, and gets a lot of looks (in a good way). The flat black ones from Shawn are also pretty nice. You won't go wrong either way.

If it was Nucig that you saw, I would not buy them. I did and the battery lasted only one day before it petered out. I would recommend Nucigs full kits though. Like others have said, spend the money on a kit not disposables. Even if you find vaping is not for you (which I doubt), you can still sell the kit to someone else and get some portion of your money back.

i've been using blu cigs with the blupack for about a month now - i highyl recommend it to an ex-smoker cause u get the pack and it looks/feels like your smoking a cig (plus it comes with 25 carts) i stopped buying carts and started buying the juice (making my own) and the blu WORKS WAY BETTER this way.

its $60 shipped for the starter kit - but well worth it and you wont have to buy anything else. (aside from a little bit of smoke juice here and there)

plus if somethign goes wrong they will replace the parts and if it's out of warranty parts for this ecig are CHEAP!!

it's the best IMO for someone who doesnt need to vaporize 24/7 (but it will)

there is however, a current recall on the original blu pack - so now may not be the best time to buy since they have to send out upgraded models to everyone who bought one. i've never waited more than 3 days for anything ive ordered from them. but they say shipping could be 4-6 weeks due to recall, maybe talk to their customer service first?

im super-happy with vaping - i hope you enjoy it - it is recommended.

Does the dragon m401 come with the juice I use? if so, do I get to pick or am I stuck with whatever they give me?
It comes with 10 prefilled carts. But most people think the prefilled ones taste nasty. However you can empty them out and refill em again, and again.
So, yes, you will need to also get some juice. You can try some of what JD has, or get sample sizes someplace like Vermont Vapor, or Nhaler. Then when you know what you like, you can get larger sizes.
