Hey guys,
I've never smoked any cigarettes before in my life, not even [moderated]. I recently tried a puff of Smoke NV from my friend and I quite liked it. I've been thinking about them lately and thing I might take them up for a bit of fun but I have a few questions,

Can they do damage to me? I know they're used to help quitting but can I use them anyway? I know it's only vapor and has no nicotine or tabacco but will it still do any damage to me?

I'm really unsure and don't want these to damage me in anyway.

Thanks.

Current studies indicate that e-cigarettes are much safer than the real McCoy, but the jury is still out as to whether they're totally safe or not. As far as a harm reduction when compared with cigarettes, they're definitely the better alternative.

All we can say is do your research and determine for yourself if starting to vape is something you really want to do. Definitely stay with juice that is 0 nic if you do decide to vape.

I definitely don't want to do anything with nic, this would just be a casual thing as well. I've read many different things about vape but wanted to see from people here how safe they are.

Why do you want to start if you have never smoked? Did your friend use nicotine in his/her device? I'm trying to understand the mindset of non-smokers wanting to take up a controversial habit. I'm just curious, not being judgmental.

Other than allergies to some of the flavorings and/or the Glycol or Glycerine, there doesn't seem to be any immediate dangers to yourself or others. There hasn't been enough studies or history of usage yet to determine long term effects but due to the ingredients used, many theorize that the ingredients aren't dangerous after long term use but vaporizing and inhaling them isn't what they were originally tested and marketed for. Your life--your call.

Inhaling anything but air comes with risks, no one can tell you if the risks outweigh your perceived 'fun' factor.
Vaping is generally considered tobbacco harm reduction, as in safer than inhaling burning tobaccos.
It would be remiss for someone to say that it is 100% safe for you to do.
It certainly isn't a good idea to start a hand to mouth habit just for fun.
The smoke nv products are quite pricey, do you really want to start watching your money go up in puff vapor for no reason?

It didn't contain any nicotine, as I pointed out earlier those ones are free of it. And because it would distract me from other things

I kind of want the habit to stop myself from biting my nails when I'm stressed.

If you can find a way to breathe for a moment and consciously relax when you get anxious, that will be one step in the right direction for your nails. Also start trimming them when they get to the point you would want to start biting them. I have similar bad habits. Vape wise, my Gf and I vape semi regular at 0 nic for the last 6 months. Since we quit smoking a few years ago (we did not use vape to quit) we enjoy the act of inhaling and exhaling the clouds of vapor and the flavors. I think as a 0 nic user, health risks are minimal (if there are any) since your use is likely to be less frequent. :)

An interesting idea. I know of other nonsmokers who have taken up vaping as a way to self-medicate ADHD (with nicotine) or to curb food cravings (without nicotine).

This is what I was curious about. I had read an article that was intimating that all substance abuse & specific food craving is nature's way of self-medicating. ADHD as a kid and now AADD as an adult. Never medicated as the family doctor told mom I would outgrow it. I guess I sort of did, just not in a "clinically" approved way.

Smoking is what kept me from biting my nails.
