So, I've been in the smoke shops quite a bit over the last several years. 'Several' being an understatement. And these people, meaning the group that seems to own all of them, have always been nice. And by 'group' I mean I see the same people at a different store. Never had an issue with them. Always helped me out, tried to get me into rolling my own (which I have). Even offered to fix my rolling machine if I ever had an issue with it. I believe the owner of the whole conglomerate sold me my first e-cig, porno edition.
But over the last 6 months I have changed from buying a carton of smokes every 3-4 days to buying a single pack a day. I was buying even less than that, but I seemed to have evened off.
So I was seeing these people every day. Mostly the old guy. I know he isn't the owner, I've questioned him. But he has somewhat joked about the idea that I gave him a $20 every time I got a pack. And that I never had the .14 change when he charged me $6.14 every day. I throw the change in my change bucket every night, and collect $1's for school lunches. So it stands to reason. So, I started bringing in the .14 whenever I thought about it, but I still needed the $1's.
Anyhow, a new girl started the other day. Looks a bit like Tammy Faye Baker. It appeared the old guy was training her, I don't know if that's true. But now, they were $6.19. Ok, I laughed and joked about it. I specifically joked with this lady that the price went up a whole nickel.
So, today, a whole day later. This woman was on her own. Now the price is $6.35. I mention this to her, the price went up twice in 2 days. I'm not wrong. I am not concerned the price went up .21 cents in 2 days. The fact that she wouldn't acknowledge it was bugging me. I just had this conversation with her yesterday. Then she goes into a rant how I think she is cheating me out of money. Wow. I never accused her of anything. She actually put the pack away and took it off the register. Well, I just had to laugh. Sarcastically, of course.
So what started out with me pointing out a simple fact, turned into a woman being offended that I would do such a thing, and then refusing to sell me cigarettes. I actually asked her if she was refusing the sale. She sold me the cigarettes. Yea, I was being lazy and didn't feel like stopping again.
In response to the fantastic customer service I received, I will quit buying from them. Although I may just print this post off and drop it off to them, whether Tammy Faye is working or not.
