Smokefree Innotec, Inc. Nears Launch of Revolutionary Electronic Cigarette

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Smokefree Innotec, Inc. (Pink Sheets:SFIO) (Welcome to the Future - Smokefree Innotech Inc.) today provided updated information on the launch of its cigarette alternative that operates differently than any other e-cigarette in the market. Thomas Schroepfer, President of Smokefree Innotec, stated, “Our new product will be the world’s first completely smoke-free, ‘hi-tech’ cigarette. Whereas the competitors’ products yield a smoky vapor and have a light at the tip end imitating the fire in a traditional cigarette, inhaling our ‘Real Smoke-free’ e-cigarette yields exclusively nicotine and aroma.” Mr. Schroepfer went on to say, “The most significant distinction between the Real Smoke-free e-cigarette and its competitors is that the Smokefree Innotec product does not utilize cartridges filled with transponder substances and nicotine. We use a slightly adapted, yet traditional, cigarette filter with nicotine interspersed through nanotechnology - enough to emulate the satisfaction of a traditional cigarette, but in a much lower dosage - and produced in Germany subject to rigid quality-control standards.”

The Real Smoke-free “hi-tech cigarette” will be introduced in August in test markets in the USA, Germany and Belgium, and will become widely available in a rollout beginning in September in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, South Africa, New Zealand, Brazil, Australia, Greece and Argentina followed by worldwide distribution in 2010.

If they've figured out a method of delivering nicotine with a throat hit without using pg, vg, or the like as a nicotine suspension agent, then perhaps they're onto something. Looks like there's no 'vapor' of any kind involved, so it could be a weird puffing experience. I'm not exactly skeptical, but I'm certainly curious.

Ask them how expensive too..

The fact that there is no price gives me the feeling that they will be outrageous, especially where it says they will appeal to financially independent individuals?

This is from their website:

"The Filter contains the tobacco solution and aroma equivalent to one regular cigarette."

Easy to do the math. One filter (cartridge) = one cigarette. You probably buy the filters by the pack of 20.

I guess this is a US company pulling a Pearl Harbor on the Chinese.. Maybe these are the a$$holes that are causing all the FDA ecig ruckus and have been in cahoots with those .......s. Look at the timing of their released test market over here?

Their website shows their R&D facilities in Shanghai, China.
This ain't a homegrown concept.

The look and quality of the packaging will determine success!

The packaging should be appealing:
>> Interest!
>> Attractive
>> Fashionable
>> Trendy
>> Easy to handle

Some preliminary
packaging ideas
have been developed
in-house.

A pack of 20 filters will be competitively but slightly higher priced in markets where the conventional pack is 4.50 or more. For instance:

Pack of 20 Marlboro Red in Belgium: 4.50 € (7$)
Pack of 20 SFI filters: 5 € (8$)

SFI will work with a well known and recognized retail communications & marketing agency with experience in product branding, packaging and consumer product launches. This will require a major budget.
Every SFI user needs one. Maximum end user price should be close to the psychological maximum of 30€ (50$) for the starter kit (chargers with high-capacity battery, and white stick).

Separate sticks should also be available in a 1 or 2 pack (in case of lost or broken)

We will work with 3rd party consultants and advertising agencies
prior to our first Focus groups in Belgium and the Netherlands.
The feedback of the Focus Groups will be of major importance to
the final look and feel of the product and its packaging.
The final packaging will be specifically targeted to address
national
differences.
Individual blistering of the filters for better conservation of aroma and nicotine

And I'll bet you that they will cost about as much as a pack of analogs. No savings there at all.

But after the FDA badmouthed e-cigs like they had done, I have a feeling Innotech will have a hard time marketing this.
