Thanks, Kristin.
I saw Mac's post last night (early this morning) and was dying to post but the question was directed at you.

Mac. I can understand why you felt a little taken a-back but Kristin's direct approach. Maybe it's a Yank thing but as you spend more time in this area of the forum and follow along with all of the media-rebutting that's going on here, you'll get a better idea of how intense this battle against the "powers that be" is.
Kristin has been a tireless, unpaid warrior in the campaign to inform the public and especially the media of the benefits of vaping vs smoking and rebutting the viscous disinformation campaign the FDA has been waging via the internet. We (you and I) are lucky to have her on our side.

I almost totally agree with everything she said here except I for one was sorry to see the exposed G-string thing go out of fashion.

Rather than hiding, we need to educate. We are reinforcing their dislike more when we hide and act like it's bad. The more we hide, the less chance that it will ever be accepted. If the only time non-smokers are exposed to vaping is seeing us outside with the smokers, they will never get close enough to see how benign it really is

Yes, kristen. That I can agree with 100%. My 'concern', if we want to call it that is visions of dozens of people vaping in a bar knowing no one can legally stop them, and non-smokers grumbling and leaving the premises. Far-fetched, yes, but that's the sort of thing that could happen if e-cigs become really popular. and it's something that might put a lot of people off them. I just have a strong belief that we should try to win over the non-smokers to our cause and I wouldn't want to see a lot of folks take a spite against e-cigs because they're constantly subjected to the vapor.

Anyway, let's not bicker over it. I'm completely on your side when it comes to educating people, and in fact, that's mostly what I've done with everyone and anyone I meet since I started vaping. You get more flies with honey than vinegar, as they say.

Well, I'm used to 'the yank thing', as you put it. I've spent half my life working with americans, and I've been hanging out on forums for 15 years now, because my job involves selling 3d content on the net through a company in Utah. (No, they're NOT Mormons! And neither am I - lol).

I also know who kristen is, mainly from the Campaigning forum, which I read regularly, but also from her many posts in all the forums. I'm a newbie, but in my 7 weeks of vaping, I've spent a lot of time reading online articles about e-cigs, the FDA, and court cases, etc, (and rolling my eyes in horror at the lies). And yes, we're very lucky to have her (and people like Elaine) on our side.

Update,

Re my e-mails to the journalist who wrote this article - We've mailed back and forth a couple of times, and I gave her the link to these forums, so she's been checking out ECF. Today she mailed me to tell me someone wrote an editorial criticising her article for only telling one side of the story. I've asked for a link to the editorial, as I couldn't find it on the site. I'd be interested to see what it says.
