I'm new here and I searched all around the site but couldn't find anything. Sorry if these are repeated questions!

So I am/was a smoker. I'm trying the SmokeStik and I actually like it. I don't get that 'inhaling' feeling, but the oral stuff...hand to mouth and the exhale of 'smoke' plus the fact I get the nicotine really helps. I'm hoping to quit someday, but until then I really like it.

Ok..so the question is how long are these carts supposed to last? Everything I found says 1 cart=1 pack but I'm not finding that to be even close. I'm using the stik as a 'real' (around here I think that's analog?) cig. I get up from my desk and go outside to smoke. If I'm home, I sit down and smoke, just like it was a real one. I'm killing my carts. I mean, is 1 drag the same as 1 cigarette?
Any tips to make them last longer? Am I using them wrong?

I'm not going to quit because it's so much better than smoking and I'm getting almost the same feeling, but how many carts will I be ordering??

Again, sorry if this has been talked about, but I couldn't find anything here about SmokeStik, just other types.

Thanks in advance!

I have a SmokeStik (and a manual 510). I like using my SS when I don't want to be bothered with the button.

I once counted the number of puffs with the SS cartridge...actually it was quite high, about 100 puffs I think...and one smokes a real cig in about 12 to 15 puffs.

I did learn a couple of things about the seemingly longevity tho'...first, the battery doesn't work as well LONG before it starts blinking at you. So, when the vapor diminshes try switching to other battery. Also, if you have an extra atomizer (if you don't, get one immediately), you can try switching to it -- it's the second thing I try. Then if I'm still not getting the vapor, I'll change the cart.

Now, with all that said...I do recommend learning how to refill the little boogers. It's a bit tedious given how dang small they are, but it can be done. Straighten a paperclip and slip it in the hole of the mouth piece to push the little cart out. It may not come out with that and then you have to use eyebrow tweezers to get it out.

Until the filler quits working (who knows how many times you can use it), clean it with warm water and blot it dry with a paper towel (I'm not worried about germs so half the time I just blot the filler and go on my merry way). Re-insert the filler, place the paperclip along the side and use a dropper to drop the juice down along the paperclip. the cart with juice. (There are some videos on this forum about this; they explain much better.)

When you need to replace the filler, look for the thread about the Pyramid Tea Bag method, using the "r" folder method. When I have time, I'll look for that thread and come back and put the link in.

Just wanted to get this much down, so you know that the SS isn't a lost cause.

see this thread (it works on the SS too -- just a little more tedious): PTB Plug Full 510 Cart --

Wait..what? I have to refill the carts on a SS?? I just got the starter pack and all it said to do was change the cart. I was wondering if I could just wet it down when it seems to stop 'smoking' so I figured I'd try that.

I just ordered 20 more carts and they said after about 100 you should get a new atomizer but maybe I'll order one sooner. I'll also try a new battery as well when it slows down.

I know I didn't get 100 drags out of a cart...I'll have to try to count next time I put a new one in.

Yes, topping off will work. And, SS would prefer that you don't refill (they want to sell their cartridges, of course). Even though their cartridges are pretty reasonably priced, you'll soon find that you want to do your own filling because it can still get expensive. Oh, and once you get turned on to all the juices, you'll never want to buy pre-filled.

Uh Oh! From the looks of this post your not really getting it. Read up on the tip/ tricks section....all of the threads may not talk about our particular model, but the concepts are the same. They all work the same. I wouldn't buy a bunch of carts from SS, unless you are just made of money....even then I would just refill them with some QUALITY smoke juice. It tastes better.

Get yourself a paper clip and some juice from Johnson creek or Totally Wicked...or somebody else and refill the same cart over and over...it's great!

Don’t worry too much Krisp. This place, the e-cig forum, is where I learned about e-cigs. I am a long time reader, and this is my first post. I bought the Smokestik Premium Starter Kit and I love it. Before that, I researched e-cigs for about a month. I came to the conclusion to buy an e-cig while I was getting drenched trying to smoke outside in the southern Georgia rain. I also have a one year old daughter and I want to get analog cigarettes away from her as far as possible.

As soon as I bought my Smokestik, I bought the Johnson Creek Sample Pack v2 of smoke juice (e-juice, e-liquid, etc.). The way I vape (smoke) is to use a cart (cartridge) from Smokestik. When that cart is done, I fill it (top-off, top-up) with a little bit of smoke juice.

Your question about how many carts you will buy is really up to you. It is a very subjective topic. I smoked about 0.5 - 0.75 packs of Marlboro lights a day for about ten years. Now, I can vape one Medium or High strength cart for most of the day. By the end of the day, I will drop in a few drops of smoke juice to get a little bit of flavor. They say one cart is equal to one pack of 20 analog cigarettes. There is probably some formula they used to figure that out, but it will be different for everybody. You have to think about how long you take a drag, what strength cart you use, how many puffs you take with an analog cigarette, how much nicotine your body is used to getting in one session, moon shape, temperature, planet alignment, current status of the Dow Jones Index, etc. I think the better way to look at it is cost. The cost of buying analogs, cost of your health, cost of the health of your loved ones, cost of buying new clothes because your white are now yellow, etc., etc., etc.

Well, if you have any more questions, the people here in the forum are awesome and the little community, that is vapors (or vapers or vaporers), is wonderful. Your questions will be surely answered one way or another.

Krisp,
My wife and I started with the SmokeStik in late June and have not had a regular cigarette since the first day. We have no problem with the SS. After our starter kit, we ordered a couple of 50 packs but then found this site and began ordering nic juice. It is great! And cheaper! We save the carts without the plug when they're done, to let them dry and be more absorbent when we add juice later. It's very easy. I use a paperclip to push the cart filler plug up and then drop from 5 to 8 drops on the filler. If you get a little too much, bubble, etc. just dab with a tissue. Let the cart plug slide back down in and cap with the clear rubbery plug till you need it. We bought a couple small zip pouches from the local dollar store and when we plan to be gone, we carry an extra battery, extra atomizer, maybe a bottle of our favorite juice, my paperclip and a few self-filled carts. We love SmokeStik. Hang in there.

That info has been confirmed by Smokestik. I emailed them after I saw what you said about them not having nic carts anymore. They didn't answer why they are not, but just gave a me a "Smokestik is a clean alternative to smoking" type answer and listed nicotine as one of the ingredients that are not included in Smokestik carts. I still have a local distributor that has the old nic filled carts. Oh well. I still like them, though.
