Never used any other brand, so all I know is this brand.

Went with this because I was able to see a real world demonstration that happened to be done by David Letterman. The others in this category, I have zero knowledge about.

2 Weeks in and it is the first time since I was 15 that I did not smoke a real cigarette during waking hours (no, did not smoke while asleep). I have never been able to quit. So for this I thank this category greatly and hope against hope that this will not lead to some other type of early adopter disease because of some unknown chemical in this stuff.

I fully expect our over reaching US Government to get themselves involved, as Ronald Reagan said, "The government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it." Especially with the marxists we have in the White House.

That aside, I am very open to trying another brand, as SmokeStik's batteries do not last long at all, so there is always that anxiety that you have now with your cellphone and other devices that you will go dead. Cellphones give you an idea of where you are, same for laptops, but there is no way to know when you are going to go dead, but it happens far sooner than you expect.

I applaud them for including a slew of recharging devices, but you need to be near an outlet or a plugged in computer to get the juice. Very difficult to gauge what it will take to be away from electric for say 12-14 hours. So, definitely interested in a unit that will last as long as I need it to.

The cartomizer. Got to suck real hard to get that smoking feeling. You almost sound like you have emphysema as you breath in. Be nice if it was an easier drag.

Hard to tell that it is coming to its end, talking about the cartomizer, but you will know as the last useful "drag" tastes horrible and leaves a bad tasting coating on your tongue and lips.

The starter kit is not cheap. You get 2 batteries, a case (that smells), 3 different cartomizers, a charger and a second charger that is usb based. Roughly $90. Stop there and it is way more expensive than a carton of real smokes, so you will need to ante up roughly $3-6 per cartomizer, depending on the quantity you purchase. They claim each is about the lifetime of a pack of cigarettes, and I won't disagree.

The good news, is if you use an e-cig, you are no longer a smoker. You don't smell like carp, your teeth won't need as many dental cleanings to remove the tar, etc. So this in itself is something to be amazingly grateful about. Not to mention "smoking" anywhere you like including on an airplane and in the terminals.

I can't post this anywhere else as I need 5 posts to do so, so SmokeStik you are in an excellent position to become the segment leader, I suggest you do the following:

- revise your cartomizers to allow for an easier drag
- get a longer lasting battery
- drop prices on the starter kit
- drop prices dramatically in the cartomizers to an average no higher than $3 for individual and as low as $1 per for quantity.
- streamline the website and do a proper photoshoot and videos for the product.

As for this board, I am open to hearing from former SmokeStik users on what they switched to that is better or addresses my issues above.

Thanks.

Heya Yankees,

Welcome to ECF. I still use SS pitbulls, along with kr8's and Rivas. It's funny, the Smokstiks are the only automatic battery that i like, and the cartos are burn resistant. I use the pitbulls when i want hands free vaping. The pitbull has an extended battery life- but stilll only 3-4 hours if it's the only PV i have in rotation.

When i need longer battery life life i use the Riva (12-18 hours ymmv) with CE2 or clearomizer cartos. The connectors aren't compatible, but you can get adapters to use the SS (RN4081) cartos on Riva (510) batteries.

SS Pitbulls. How long do they last? Do you have a case for them? I will look into the Riva's and kr8's. If you have a suggestion of which model is best appreciate it.

I will say this, I am thankful to SmokeStik, as soon as it came I have not had a real cigarette since. Thankful for this technology.

Just want to have something that I don't have to worry about charging in the event I am away from electric for 12-14 hours.

Thanks for the reply and welcome.

SmokeStik was my first purchase also. It is a fantastic product, and thy have the BEST menthol cartos I have ever found. My husband still uses SmokeStik exclusively. I like toys, and so I have ventured around!! The PB has a longer battery life, and the battries are long lasting. My husband is still using his original batteries. My favorite battery right now is the Volcano Inferno, because it is more versatile.

Like you, SmokeStik made it possible for me to quit smoking. It is a great alternative.

Best wishes!!

Any battery that is about the size and shape of a combustible cig will need to be charged more frequently than the larger sized PVs.. To get a longer charge you'll need to go with a "fat battery" or a mod. The battery life is rated in milliamp hours (mAh) and that refers to the number of charge cycles and how long each charge lasts. In general, the higher the number the longer the battery life. But, since i don't know the mAh for the batteries below off the top of my head, I'll tell you ~ how long the charges last for me. That'll give you an idea of the ratio, and a ballpark range.

The regular SS batteries (Hendu, in my case) last me ~ 1-2 hours before needing to be charged. The SS Pitbull batteries are slightly longer in size, and last me 3-4 hours between charges. You can get cases for the PB, and the kits come with cases. BUT, the PB is completely compatible with your existing SS chargers and cartos, so there's no need for you to buy a whole kit. The cartos are refillable, and last for many refills. Just be careful- since these are automatic batteries, juice dripping into the battery will kill it.

I also kr808d1's from Vapor for life. The regular batteries last me 3-4 hours and the XL's 6-8 hours. They come in manual or automatic. I prefer the manual. Kr808d1s use cartos, but they are not directly compatible with your current hardware- you would need to purchase a kit. The cartos are refillable. There is a portable charging case for the kr8's.

My Riva's are from Vapor Junction and from Liberty Flights. These are the fat batteries, and mine are 600/650 mAh, and last me 12-18 hours between charges. The come as a 3-piece system, with a couple of atomizers and 10 carts- no juice. They have 510 threads and there are cartos available if you prefer. They're not directly compatible with your current system, but the kits are fairly inexpensive.

I use all of these- started with the kr808d- and like them all for different times and places. At the moment, I'm sitting at my desk and switching off between different flavors in my Riva and my PB. :)
