I am pretty experienced with all the protanks, evods, t2's ect. All of these work great on my innokin MVP2. Now I want to get into rebuildable dripper atomizers and was wondering how they would work on an MVP2. Specifically I'm looking at getting the SmokeTech Catepillar because they are readily available and relativity cheap at my local shop. Has anyone tried one of these on a MVP2 if so what mods are needed to make it work better.

It will work fine on an MVP. Just keep your build within its ccapability.
I have the Caterpillar. It's a very nice RDA for the money. I get better flavor out of it than my Trident.
I was going to use it on my full size Provari at home and use my Provari mini and Russian on the go, but I liked the Caterpillar so much I went and bought a Smok Magneto to put it on. They look great together and work very well.
I say go for it!

I have a Magneto and I'd love to see a picture of that setup! :)

Sorry, I just saw your post and I'm sure you know what it looks like on your Magneto by now, lol.
I didn't even try the prebuilt coils it came with. They looked kinda scary, lol.
I have tried everything from twisted micro coils to sub ohm macro coils in my caterpillar, and I have found that what seems to work best is the old tried and true dual micros.
I also found that 28g seem to work best. Every variation of twisted coils I tried had that initial "pop and spit". They work great, but I just found it annoying.
A single micro worked great as well, but the expansion chamber is so large that duals produced better flavor.
I have gone through a TON of wire trying to find the right build for it and have settled on dual micros wound on a 1/16" drill bit, 28g, and about 9 wraps each for about .6 to .8 ohm total resistance, with just enough cotton wick to make good contact with the deck.
I found no benefit to go any lower on resistance, or any additional wick. Additional wick simply wasted liquid. I also run the adjustable airflow wide open.
I also use AW IMR batteries. I just keep my builds WELL within their tolerances. My research showed their composition to be the safest, but opinions vary widely on that subject.
I will gladly post pictures of the various builds I have tried if you like, but like I said, it's a basic dripper that works best with a simple build.
With simple dual micros, that are properly wicked and saturated, my caterpillar gives a quiet, smooth, VERY flavorful vape.
I can't really recommend a build for TH as I drink mass quantities of coffee and I can drip 24mg and still not get much of a throat hit, :p .
I love my caterpillar, even though I could've gotten it much cheaper online, but I chose to support one of my local B&M's that has been very good to me.
If I can help more in any way, feel free to post or PM me; I'll do my best to help.
There are a lot of good people here with a lot of knowledge they're willing to share. Sometimes it can take a little time to get help, but it's worth the wait.

Has anyone drilled out their holes on their Caterpillar? I just enlarged all mine to 1/16" for more air flow. So far I like it. Far more usable air hole settings allowing more vape as well.

There are actually 2 versions. The first only had holes on one side. The current version has 5 holes on each side.
I've found no reason to drill mine out. I have the 10 hole version and when it's wide open there is practically no "resistance" to the draw. It's the airiest RDA that I have ever used.
I occasionally choke myself when I switch from my Russians to my Caterpillar with the first hit cause I forget and draw like I do on the Russians , lol.

Thanks you guys convinced me to get one!

I just ordered a Caterpillar from Madvapes for $13.00. Looking forward to getting it. I know it's a cheaper RDA but at least it's not a clone and after 6 months I'm still occasionally using my Smok Mini RDA which has worked flawlessly even after dozens of builds. Can't wait to slap the pillar on my Magneto with a .5 Ohm build and a Sony VTC4!

Heh, cool.. I like the LED.

It is a nice looking atty for the price though! I remember seeing pics of it a while back, but wasn't sure who made it or when it'd be available.. then I forgot about it. I just wish it was a bit shorter.

While it is taller than some, it's not as tall as it appears in pictures.
I didn't think I would like the height of it either until I saw it in person. It looks great on the Magneto, and I put a short, wide bore drip tip on it to shorten it a little.
With my Magneto in 18500 mode, and stock drip tip on it, it shorter than my Provari Mini in 18350 mode with my Russian 91% with a short wide bore drip tip on it.
In that pic the Caterpillar has my short, wide bore drip tip on it. Sorry, stock one is at work in my desk. It's amazing how much warmer the vape is with only a slightly shorter drip tip.

There's a pic of it on a Magneto for you BTSmokinCat, lol. Somehow I got in my head you had already ordered it, and figured you had already gotten by the time I saw your request for a pic.

I have one on a MVP V2. The included coils came out to 1.5ohm. I like it better as a single 2-2.2ohm coil due to the 3amp limit on the MVP. Low ohms also drains the MVP's battery much faster.

The Caterpillar isnt bad for what it cost, i like it. The drip tip is nice but it was crazy tight at first. Now its fine. Mine also has the two sets of air holes.

Chucks the vapor and I love the wide open airflow!

So far no regrets with this one!

I'm glad you're happy with it!
Congratulations.
:toast:

Happy to be of absolutely no help whatsoever and get to spout off at the same time.
It doesn't get any better than that! :p

Good looking build by the way.
