Smoking at work, how to approach this?

I work at a small non-profit, so I guess I have a more personal relationship with a lot of the people I work with than most do. I vape quite a bit and where ever I am at work. No need to be sneaky.

It does seem like it would be pretty hard to get caught if you wanted to hide it at work.

Hey Cap!

You did a good read of your own work situation and made a prudent decision, imo. Some of the other posters are fortunate and are blessed with better situations.

Main thing we evaluate each situation and exercise simple common sense on a case-by-case basis.

ps: In my past we had a guy that carried himself like your safety officer...we used to call him "Iron Chest." lol

At work I keep it discreet, bathroom breaks and any time no one else is in my office. I have no plans to ever ask if its ok nor will I ever tell anyone what I'm doing unless I have too. We have far to many busy bodies that no matter what it is they will make it their personal crusade to quash it.

Yah Shaka this thread has def. gotton alot of response and i actually noticed that there already was a dedicated thread soley for this topic lol.

But its awesum because im always pumped to see what peoples experiances are with there Vapin so i can hopefully take some advice and good direction.

But if anybody is like me, even though i know better, or read all i can on the subject, Have sombody say it to me 100times, stamp it on my forehead I still have to experiance it for myself lol

I'm cool with all my coworkers so when I told them I'm trying to quit analogs they were all for it. In fact, they love watching me smoke my e-cig. They're fascinated by it! lol

Well, since day one when I got my box I have been vaping at and in work. When I got it I just went to my boss and showed him my cool new thingy. At first he asked alot of questions but just laughed a lil and wished me luck. I work in an electrical/electronics shop and havent had any probs. Some of my smoking co-workers are actually looking into vaping now that I am strutting around there with it.

I too have been vaping at work. Most people here do not care. (i work for a PC gaming company ) My boss is an ex-smoker who quit 10 years ago. He does like the vaping idea. Sitting here at my desk vaping, i feel like i can continue the process of work without having to get up and go outside. its def. more productive for me.

couple of the guys saw me and saked about it, said HR would prolly not approve, but....well...i never asked HR so....

I work third shift at a nursing home with 2 other girls. I just sit in the break room and puff away. I let my extra ecig -or the one i vaped up in the car- sit on the wall charger. No one has asked about it, so I'm not telling!

I work in a call center and vape all the time at my desk. I'll get the occassional worried look, but it opens the dialog on e-cigs. Management has asked me questions about it and they seem to be welcoming of it. They tell me that as long as no one complains, I'm good to go.

I have my own office and vape there all day, lol. I do it discretely though. Even though it is safe for people to be around, the paridigm will not change when people see "smoke" and belive it to be taboo and harmful. It's kinda like walking around naked.

Yeah, I just pretty much stick with smoking rules.

When I worked at Starbucks, everyone knew what it was, so nobody cared if I smoked it in the back room while doing a crossword puzzle. Now that I work in a restaurant, I gotta leave the building during my breaks to maintain my sanity anyway, so I just sit on the curb with my iced tea and vape away. When I have a serious jones, there's no problem with slipping off to the restroom for a few minutes.
