Let me start by thanking everyone here at ECF. Your wealth of knowledge helped turned my initially frustrating vaping experience into a fine learning experience.

My girlfriend hated me smoking. The smell sickened her, and understandably so. She hated it to the point that it put a strain on our relationship. I had tried quitting for her, but the cravings and being without nicotine made me into a sissy crybaby at the drop of a hat. I guess having been raised by chainsmokers and smoking since age 14 made nicotine a permanent part of my life, and I just couldn't kick the habit.

The good news, my girlfriend had done some research on smoking, and found that e-cigarettes were becoming popular, and offered to purchase one for me for my birthday. It seemed like perfect compromise. I keep my vice and she keeps her nose. So, we went to the mall. We had seen the kiosk, and from reading posts on this forum, many others have as well for the "Smoking Everywhere" brand of e-cigarettes. Specifically, the Fifty One Trio.

We talked to the rep there and haggled the price down to a (what we thought was) reasonable price of 140.00 USD for a battery, atomizer, five cartridges, and a bottle of e-juice. I was thrilled and took it home and immediately began vaping. At first puff, I noticed I didn't get the same amount of smoke I got from a normal cigarette. I thought this was normal, and just continued on like normal, topping off my juice every 15-20 puffs or so.

I'm a curious person by nature, so I started doing research on these vast internets for any tips and tricks to get the best vaping experience from my new toy. Then I stumbled upon this fine place, and found almost zero threads concerning the fifty one trio. So, I started reading about other e-cigs, and looking at video reviews. On the reviews, I saw that even on the less popular models of PVs, they were getting a lot more vapor than I was. The more research I did, the more I started to realize the Smoking Everywhere lie I was told.

Once I got over the initial anger, I started to research what I should choose in my next PV, as it was apparent I'd be replacing my Smoking Everywhere PV ASAP. I, like many others, chose the 510 at the multitude of recommendations from other members on this forum. What follows is a breakdown and comparison of the two.

I won't discuss shipping, because I bought the Smoking Everywhere from the Mall, and had my 510 shipped from "VaporTalk". Standard USPS Priority Shipping, I had my 510 in five days.

Form Factor:

The 510 - Long, Black, Sleek, Blue LED, Manual Operation

Smoking Everywhere - Slightly Less Long than the 510 overall, but a smidge longer in the battery. Shorter cartridge, shorter atty, looks more like a standard cigarette, automatic operation

My Opinion - Manual or Automatic, I see the pluses to both. I'm going to miss vaping hands-free with my Smoking Everywhere, but otherwise the form factor is more pleasing to the eye with the 510, and I quickly got over the fact that it doesn't look like a "real" cigarette.

Battery:

The 510 - Abysmal. There's a reason you get two batteries with most starter kits, you'll need them. Because of this, though, I believe it delivers a more powerful vape. (Personally, I could be very very wrong, as I don't know what voltage the Smoking Everywhere operates at)

Smoking Everywhere
- As this was my first, I can't say it was better or worse than average, but it got me through a standard work day on one battery charge. (8 hours, vaping every 2 hours for 15 minutes)

My opinion - With the two batteries I received with the 510, I'm pretty much promised a continual vaping experience, whereas with Smoking Everywhere, I would have to wait for it to recharge before I could enjoy more nicotine. So, even with the poor battery life on the 510, having two makes this a non-issue. I will miss the convenience of an auto battery, because I like hands-free vaping, but I see and understand the pluses to manuals.

Vapor Production:

The 510 - The vapor production on the 510 certainly lives up to the video reviews I've seen online. Even a short hit produces a cloud of vapor very comparable to a standard cigarette, the effect evens out on longer hits, I've found (personally) so a longer hit isn't necessary for me to get a respectable amount of vapor. roughly 3-4 seconds.

Smoking Everywhere - Absolutely horrific. On short hits it only produces a slightly noticeable wisp of vapor and that's after the obligatory "primer puff" It takes a full five second hit (that's the cutoff time on the Smoking Everywhere auto battery) to get anywhere CLOSE to the amount of vapor I get from much shorter hits on the 510.

My Opinion - The 510 wins this, hands down. End of Discussion. If this were a fist fight, the 510 would be Mike Tyson, and Smoking Everywhere would be Larry King in the middle of an asthma attack.

Throat Hit:

The 510 - Superb. The increased vapor production ensures every hit gives me a good kick. The "Midnight" flavor the VaporTalk supplied with my order is very good, and has a slight hint of cherry on top of a highly tobacco/woody flavor.

Smoking Everywhere - Mid-range if you take a full 5 second hit, non-existent if you hit anything less. Sometimes, none at all even with a 5 second hit. Not consistent at all, perhaps this is a flaw in the Smoking Everywhere atty, I don't know. Even with the strong Vanilla flavor they provided, the TH was very weak. Maybe this is more dependent on e-juice quality, but the difference was still pretty large.

My Opinion - Again, the 510 wins hands down. I get consistently strong TH and don't have to worry about vaping back-to-back just to get a decent TH. Love the consistency.

Cartridge:

The 510 - Holds easily 20 drops of e-liquid (first fill), and wicks very well. The Cartridge is built right into the tip, so there's no fuddling with anything to get more drops in, just drip, pop, and vape.

Smoking Everywhere - Holds maybe 6 drops, 7 if you really mess with it. Because of this, I was constantly topping off with this cartridge. Not only that, but the Smoking Everywhere cartridges bury their ACTUAL cartridge inside the tip, forcing me to pull a MacGuyver and use an unbent paperclip to push the cart up to refill. Overall, a messy procedure.

My Opinion - That's Three Strikes, Smoking Everywhere. You're out. The higher capacity of the 510 cartridge means more time vaping and less time topping off. Not only that, but the 510 doesn't make me play bomb-defuser every time I have to top off. Very convenient.

OVERALL:

I can't believe I wasted my girlfriend's money on this Smoking Everywhere piece of junk. It's unreliable, poorly designed, and at it's best, doesn't perform anywhere near the level of the 510 at it's worst. I'll be keeping it, but only because I'd like to have a backup should the apocalypse happen, and also because I'd hate to burden anyone else with this ugly stick. Hell, I wouldn't give this one away because it might turn folks off from e-cigs totally before learning there's a whole wide world of e-cigs out there.

It's a shame that Smoking Everywhere has gained the exposure and proliferation in the American market that it has. Of all the e-cigs I've seen on the internet (and believe me, I did a LOT of homework before deciding on the 510), the Smoking Everywhere performs the WORST. Even the poorest e-cigs would outperform the Smoking Everywhere. This is truly the the bottom of the barrel. How they stay in business is beyond me, because I know they won't be getting any repeat business from me, and I'll pointing every smoker I know AWAY from those kiosks in the mall, and point them HERE first.

In summation, I'd like the thank EVERYONE here for their reviews, opinions, tips, tricks, and vast amount of knowledge I had available at my fingertips when making my next e-cig purchasing decision. I'm happy with my 510, and am looking forward to the wonderful world of mods.

TL;DR - Smoking Everywhere Sucks, the 510 Kicks so much .... I'm surprised it can find it's foot in the sea of posterior it's punted.

Hope this helps any new members or readers in making their e-cig decision, and remember. STAY AWAY FROM "SMOKING EVERYWHERE"!

Happy Vaping!

Yes Smokingeverywhere is a huge scam, I will agree. 140 dollars for ONE battery and ONE atomizer? COMPLETE CROCK OF CRAP. They know their atomizers and batteries are crap, so they only include one for DOUBLE if not TRIPLE the actual price. And since they're crap, they know they'll fail very quick and have to be replaced with yet another piece of crap that will need replacing, and they just write it off as "That's how e-cigs are!"
Scam scam scam.
- Just my opinion, which to me seems fact, but whatever.

Feel stupid for buying into it, honestly. Typically I do more research on any electronic device I buy. For some reason I thought all e-cigs were created equal. I was very, very wrong. Super happy with my new 510 though, and thanks to everyone here, I'll be well-informed for the future!

You shouldn't feel stupid. I'd say everyone here has made this mistake (not necessarily with smokingeverywhere, but with some other form of crap e-cig). But we have to be introduced to e-cigs in one way or another, only a few have been lucky enough to start with a great model. Me, personally, I don't think I'd enjoy my screwdriver or 510 as much as I do if I didn't start off with such a piece of crap e-cig. It's the only way we learn :)

I don't totally agree with your assessment. Although overpriced, I wouldn't say that their product is a "huge scam." Not knowing any better, in Nov 2009 I too purchased an SE @ a mall kiosk. I received the following for $160: 2 batteries, 2 atomizers; 1 charger; and 6 boxes of cartridges.

They do offer a 1 year guarantee on all aspects of their products. I had a defective battery and it was replaced without issue. In fact, their atomizers are ranked as one of the best; above and beyond many of the other known brands. I have been using an original atomizer for 3 months; continued high performance, no failure.

Vapor production is adequate but certainly not anywhere near the production of say an Ego or above. Cartridges are refillable and certainly no more of a pain than filling any of the others.

Fast forward; I now also have a manual battery EGO. There is absolutely no comparison between the two in terms of performance. However, I still take my SE with me when I go out on short hops. It was adequate enough to start and maintain my quit for 3 weeks until I ordered/received my EGO so let's not sell them short!

As with you, I am new to this. I wanted to quit tobacco and the e cigarette has done that. The first few days, I yearned for my Marlboro Reds. Now, I cannot stand the smell of smoke. Finally, I have realized how obnoxious the smell of tobacco smoke is to others.

The road, however, was a bit bumpy. The first thing that I discovered was that most of the reviews on the internet are garbage. In fact, I would claim that many have some sort of commercial link, even though they claim to be independent.

The way search engines work is that the more hits a term gets, the higher it comes up in the rankings. If one is willing to pay enough money and has clever people doing it, one can insure that the name comes out in the first page or two. Type in "review of electronic cigarettes", and I guarantee that most of these unbiased reviews are very biased.

Or do you think that Google got that big by offering their services for free?

It takes some skillful digging and patience to come up with the truth, such as found on e-cigarette forum.

I soon discovered that the key to happy vaping is lots of charged batteries (if you use minis)and or charged big batteries as well as a lot of topped off carts. I was a heavy smoker (+1 pack/day). A few mini batteries were just not going to get me through the morning, let alone a day.

Tried the 2 piece GreenSmoke. OK, but ridiculously expensive batteries and inconstant cartomizers. Might be OK for a light smoker, but would definitely recommend another system to a heavy smoker. Looked at some of the mall stuff. Garbage! These guys are snake oil salesmen.

In the end, I choose the 510 system, since it is such a popular format. I got mine with the personal charger which will allow me to get through an evening out or a round of golf, although I will carry another spare and a few extra carts in a plastic bag.

At home or in the office, I use a Screwdriver MkII with the 510 adapter. Love it!!

There are also some refillable 510 cartomizers that I found out about on this site from vaporadam. Going to try them since they are supposed to hold more juice.

I probably will never drip. Just too cumbersome!

Also ordered some of the Mega Mini 510 batteries and a 5 battery charger to see how they work.

Now I am experimenting with different wicks. Not impressed with the pyramid tea bag. I am now taking Fluval and really cramming it into the cart, but instead of using the eyedropper, I will use a syringe to inject juice in.

Most of the wicks that I have seen are packed very loosely. The juice is fairly viscous, so if the wick is packed tightly, it will take forever to fill the cart. A syringe would enable you to get into the wick and really saturate it and get a lot more juice into it.
Anyway, still learning!
E cigs really require a change in lifestyle almost. You cannot just use them the way you use “analogs”.
Have gotten some great tips here.

Smoking Everywhere is nothing but a scam, a friend of mine who is selling E-Cigs branded and made for his company, actually has been harassed by the local guys selling Smoking Everywhere in the mall. Plus they charge 60 bucks for a 30ml bottle of juice, WTH, I can but 30ml bottles all day long for cheap as hell online, or even make my own nic-free juice for less.

Aloha Lucavex. Don't feel stupid...the glass is always half-full my friend. You are here!

You and I have similar paths. I fell for a "free trial offer" scam. I paid 144.00 for a cig look-alike with ONE batt and ONE atty, canceled my cc (easiest way to get out of their monthly refill program)...but you know what? Like you, this started my research which brought me here, and the unit did help me cut back on analogs. Based on the overwhelming support here for the 510, I ordered one and never looked back since.

Yes, the batts do suck somewhat, but because of this forum I knew that going in so I never considered the pcc...I knew I would upgrade to the eGo which I did. Since you seem to be "following" me, LOL maybe you should do the same! I still like my std batts and use it everyday when I'm going out, like the movies when you don't need the eGo's capacity...much easier in the shirtpocket and quite discrete.

Welcome and much luck to you Lucavex!
