Last week when I boarded a british Airways flight from Copenhagen to London Heathtrow I asked one of the flight attendants for permission to use my ecig. She told me that I had to ask the Captain. So I was lead to the cockpit and smoked in front of them and told that it was odourless and did not contain any carcinogens. I was asked how it worked and I pulloed the pieces apart and the Captain said - NO Problem. So I smoked all the way and no one complained and many thought it was so COOL and asked me where to get one of these.
Waiting in Heathrow Airport I puffed all I wanted and got many stares and looks, but no one told me to stop "Smoking".
American Airlines from London To Chicago was totally against it. I met a total ignorant BitXXth of a purser who said that it was not allowed to use such Electronic devices onboard. Because it was electronic
and might interfere with flight equipment (To her defence I have to ad She was BLONDE!). None of the flight attendants had ever heard or seen an ecig before, but all were fascinated and many wanted a demonstration. I smoked in Chicago O-hara airport and later in Seattle and Salt Lake City airports and got no complaints.
I put the E-cig in the plastic trays and there was no problems passing security whatsoever.
On the long flight home (8 hours I smoked disdretely without asking permission - just holding my breath a little longer, not to exhale so much smoke). None of the others passengers complained even though they noticed a bit of smoke, but since it is odourless, there was no problem. Only that foolish led light on the tip could give me away... so I had to cover it.
