Hey All-

I just got back from spending a week on the east coast with family. I was a little nervous about the trip because 1) this was going to be the first time I traveled with vaping supplies 2) this was going to be the first time I spent a week with smoking relatives since vaping full time.

Airport/TSA:

I didn't have a problem. They didn't even look at me twice. In my carry-on I had: 2 mods, 2 V4L stealths, 8 lithium-ion rechargable batteries and a multitude of chargers, 5 cartos, 5 atomizers, 3 drip tips, and a 30ml bottle of juice (the rest of my juice I packed in my checked bag).

I disassembled everything before going through security (batteries out/cartos,attys detached). Kept everything in their own separate cases and the juice in a ziploc bag. As soon as I got through security, I put everything back together.

Smoking Relatives:

I thought this was going to be my biggest problem of the trip...as it turns out...it didn't make me want to smoke...it made me want TO DIE! OMG...when my family would go to bed, I would turn on fans and open windows for HOURS and still couldn't air the place out. I just now went into my carry on bag to pull out some supplies...the whole bag STINKS of smoke! Good Lord...I can't wait until tomorrow when I start unpacking clothes! I can't imagine how bad that's going to be.

Well, it's good to be back...I hope you all have been well.

I was nervous too...mostly because I was flying back home out of Newark (where the 9/11 plane that went down in Shanksville left from). I thought FOR SURE, they would at least pull me for additonal screening and explosives swabbing...Nope.

I got some good tips from the travel section here on ECF. Taking everything apart and having each item in their own case MAY have helped. Also carrying a minimal amount of juice and packing the rest...IDK...all I DO know is it was a breeze for me. I had a V4L business card and a speech all ready and didn't get to use either...LOL

LMAO...yeah, I guess that thread title is a bit deceiving...I am now crying over here imagining all the interpretations...Thanks for pointing that out Ethereal.
I almost had to have my "smoking relatives" come in and help me at the airport as I lost my credit card somewhere on the trip. I'm sure I would have been questioned then...LOL...

Good to know you didn't have any problems! I don't mind flying but now avoid it because the whole airport security thing puts my anxiety in high gear.
And I agree, smoking/the smell of smoke does not make me want to smoke either. All it does is remind me that I do NOT want to smoke and it actually helps refresh my memory when I start romanticizing cigarettes on bad days.

Good to hear about the airport; I'm already getting nervous about our November vacation. Isn't it funny how disgusting cigarettes smell to us now? We used to smell like that?!? It's been 3 months for me & I still keep spraying my car.

Heh, it's been about 6 months for me and I just started to smell smoke again. I was spraying my car like crazy too, but then I realized I could use this as the excuse I've been looking for to buy a new car. Which I did a couple of weeks ago.

I'm so happy you didn't have travel troubles !! I can relate to the smell the smoke thing though. I smell it everywhere I go. But the worst is when I had some blankets and clothes in the closet that I never use. I hadn't gone through them since I started vaping & was cleaning. OMG !! When I pulled them out all I could smell was the awful cigarettes !!! That smell gets into EVERY nook n cranny of your home. You never realize it until you don't smoke anymore. It was terrible !!! ( Can ya tell I don't use that closet much ?)

I just flew out for a vacation - flew from Calif to Phoenix, from there we flew to Washington D.C., then Puerto Rico. We took a caribbean cruise and sailed in to New York Harbor, then flew from JFK to Phoenix, then back to Calif. On all the flights, I had 4 small 5m bottles of juice in my 1 quart ziplock with my other things, and in my carryon, I had like 6 boxes of cartos with 4 batteries. In my purse I had 2 batteries with cartos on. I was never stopped or questioned about my ecigs once. I didn't vape publicly on the plane or the airports because I didn't want to cause a scene lol. I did pop into the restrooms however and take a few calming puffs as needed. It was great! :)
