I noticed that they're very inconsistent. I've used one where I punched 4 large holes in a carto that was already prepunched, then put it in a tank and it still wouldn't wick the juice, wow. The filler material used must be all types of different sizes when packed in the carto shell. I've also used one where I put over 1ml of juice and let it sit for 30 minutes and it would burn out right away when I tried to vape it. Also, the threading is not smooth and screws on weird. I noticed Boge's are much smoother and fits perfectly against the Provari top cap. I only wish there were more manufacturers.

I too have noticed issues with filler material on these.

Oddly enough I also noticed it on the latest shipment i got of Boge SR XL's as well. Using the condom or tilt fill methods wouldn't soak up the fluid, even after 30mins+! I got them to take fluid after rinsing them well with hot water and blowing them out, but not letting them dry fully. Seemed to help coax the fluid to soak in faster. Maybe there's something on the filler material that is phobic of efluid till its washed away? IDK

There are plenty of awful cartos out there much worse than SmokTech, but ST's are the worst of the most commonly used/available cartos. I've had ones with missing air holes in the connector, totally crooked center tube so the vape was awful, many of them flood like crazy in a tank, or refuse to wick at all.

I've had great luck with Boges, the more recent ones seem to have even tighter filler material than they used to, so they are a bit more difficult to fill up properly, but they still work great.

Have you all tried the trick on a Boge where you just poke the filler a few times with a pin?

Agreed with the SMK cartos, thought it was just me cause they sell quite well. Had the thread problems consistently, but mostly dry hits. I could get them gurgling wet and still get a dry hit.

I'm replacing them with the Boge 1.6's now. Work well.

Ah, well. You can start a thread like this on just about all ecig products.

I'll generally use a needle tip bottle or I'll use the "flick" method to force juice down into the filler, so I don't have to mess with the filler really. Plus I've noticed after you've put a bit of juice through the carto, it soaks up additional juice much better. I don't know why this is the case, I've always been worried that there was some sort of residue left on the filler material that stops the juice from soaking in well, and after you run a bit of juice through it that residue is gone, so it soaks up juice better. But if that was the case I'd imagine the flavor would be terrible for awhile, which isn't the case, so it's probably just a surface tension type thing, where once juice is already coating the filler, additional juice soaks in easier.

I dont think you are priming them right. I use smoktechs all the time and havent found anything better or i would be using it.

A carto tank is almost vacuum sealed, hence the need for the o-rings. the liquid needs time to soak and when using thicker liquids, you need to give it time to break in (i use smoktechs and bobas).

You only need two holes, I only use two with bobas and have no trouble, the second hole being at the top of the tank space.

when you put the 1 ml of juice in, it probably didnt fill right because of not being primed properly, and if it wasnt wet at the base it wouldnt stick. the filler needs to get that initial wetness before the tank starts doing its job.

if you have any left, id like to help you get them running. i am vaping a smoktech now and would like to help you enjoy it like i do.

i hate boge, was a victim of bogegate, and i stick with smoktech for consistency.

ive been using them for almost a year and a half exclusively. ive been using my current cartos for over a week with ave juices.
