This isn't really a review per se, more of an experience. I hadn't touched a tank before this and the Smoktech DCCT from Hoosier was the first in my hands. I have to say I was impressed, it works out pretty well. It wasn't all that difficult to fill, isn't difficult at all to refill, the pre-punched carto works well for the 70/30 liquid I was putting in it, and flavor is great.

The only real trouble I've had with it probably isn't due to anything other than a newbie mistake. I left it with the thread end down overnight right after refilling it (carto still hadn't reached capacity) and I ended up losing around .5ml of juice that had leaked from the air hole. Filled it up again this morning and throughout a day of use I haven't had much of an issue when I don't stand it up.

For the price I can't tell anybody curious about tanks not to pick one up. If this is the most hassle I'll see from a tank, I'll definitely suggest it to anybody who doesn't want to spend too much. I plan to pick another tank up in a few weeks (probably a J-TANK), and I'll do a review on it when that comes around.

That said, if you guys have any (budget friendly) suggestions for me to try out, whether it's juices, cartos, attys, different vendors, let me know. I'm open to try new things.

I did drip into the top of the carto after filling the tank, probably got 15 drops in. Let it wait for 5 or 10 minutes after. It was sucking the juice up pretty quick. I'll definitely give that a shot in the future.

Cool I'm not trying to change your method but I watched your vid and I didn't see you do it so I assumed you didn't.

Well, it's a dual coil carto tank, so really it's just the prefill material in the carto feeding the coils. The tank feeds the carto from the base / threaded end through an itty bitty hard to see on camera hole...when I start slotting them it'll be easier to see. I should probably put the word carto in the video title - didn't realize I left it out.

And you don't have to fill with a syringe...I just figured it would be the safe bet filming live the first time I played with one. I've dripped in it successfully a handful of times, just make sure the tip of the nozzle is touching the inside of the stopper opposite your carto so it goes in the tank and not the cartomizer.

Alright, here's an update. At this point I have a hard time recommending it, mainly because I had a less than adequate (IMO) experience with it. I'm sure it had everything to do with pressurization in the tank, causing the carto to leak. If you get one with o-rings that aren't messed up from the get-go, great. If you haven't bought it yet, I'd say save yourself $10 and go with a ~$25 tank...though I can't necessarily say that yet because I haven't gotten my slightly more expensive (assuming quality here) tank yet.

From everything I've read, and I've read a lot (my boss probably isn't too happy), the key to a good tank is a good seal. If you can't get that, you're screwed from the get-go. You need that bad boy to be air tight, and in that area my Smoktech tank didn't do the job. I'm not about to throw a fit about it...in the end the vendor turns his inventory around to the customer. How was he supposed to know that there was an imperfection in the unit? Take your lumps and roll with them, find what works for you. I'm chronicling what works for me, and giving advice based on that. While it's not foolproof, at least you get to see it first hand. Thanks for watching.
