Now..can anyone tell me if we have to buy the batteries for it? And if so, which ones should I get? And should I buy a charger bay for said batteries, or is the USB charging adequate?

My batteries of choice are either AWT's or MXJO's I've never had a problem with them and I'll PM you a good place to get them and a charger

Last 2 times I won something I didn't even get to utilize it. Won concert tickets and backstage passes to a Chevelle show, which I didn't even get the voicemail for until 3 months after said concert. And then I won tickets to see Blue October, and I couldn't go because I was 8 months prego! lmao

There is no USB charging. The USB port is for firmware upgrades only. It does not come with batteries, but any good 18650 battery will suffice. The highly regarded ones are Samsung 25R's, LG HE2, HE4, and the new HG2, Sony VTC4 or VTC5. you will need to get a separate charger. I personally use an XTar VP4.
