I had an issue with the PO in Sugarland TX recently, mail was there for 2 weeks! After that it usually takes a couple days vacation in Houston. When I filed an official PO complaint my postmaster here called me. I told him I expected the same type of service there as I have received here in my 20 years in this town (which is excellent). Then I suggested he pass along my message.

Yep, have had mine get stuck several times in the Texas black hole of death!

I currently have a "fun story" with local post office... although I understand it's not their fault.
Ordered a phone cover for my kid from the interwebz. Tracking tells me it's in my country(and the country is tiny, with less than 2mil people) since like 19th of August already... yet, every number I call, tells me they know nothing about my parcel and they can't track it in their sytem, by using my contact details.

My postmaster here told me if they had even one letter left in the back overnight someone would lose their job over it. I can understand some "black hole" processing centers take some time from the volume, but what I went through was ridiculous. I ordered once from VW in Texas, my juice took 10 days to get to me because of the PO system.

40 years ago I would go once a year to a wood chopping festival here in my state (regional qualifications for world champ). There was always tobacco companies throwing out full sized free samples of product. I would always pick up a few cans of skoal for when I went deer hunting later in the year because I didn't want to smoke in the woods for the deer to smell. And when I say throw, I mean if you walked past them they would say "hey" and if you smiled or looked at them they tossed you mail pouch or tins or cigs.
