As for the contest, the more people that use your link the greater your chances. So, if it was just you and I in the contest and all I did was enter, I'd have 10 points. If you entered and had 5 friends enter via your link you'd have 110 points. I'd have 10 chances out of 120 to win and you'd have 110 out of 120.

As far as the thread contest, it strongly seems that it was a random draw via post number. If I had only posted once and you had posted 100 times, there's a much greater chance that you would win.

In either case, it's still possible that I could win, but the chances are much greater the more you use social media and the more you post in this thread (currently).

As far as the social media thing, I agree that's how it could be setup, unless there is a surprise grand prize.

As far as the "more you post the better chances you'll win" I really don't think so. v1 had like 10 posts when he won. I really think it's more of a 1:1 chance to anyone who has posted. I could be wrong....

Yes, what is the point of gaining points through sharing if the points don't matter? If i was a company giving stuff away I would be more likely to reward those that advertise for me than someone who signs up and crosses their fingers.
