My guess is that they are making a list of everyone that posted in the thread and then randomly selected the winners from that list. So that would mean that if you post once, you have the same chances as someone who posted 1,000 times in the thread. I guess that is why this thread had so much activity yesterday, with everyone thinking that the more they posted in here the better their chances of winning. IMO if that is how winners were selected, or if the winners were chosen by randomly selecting the post number, which means that every post in the thread counted as a single entry, then expect to see more and more spam showing up in the thread. It probably would just be a matter of time before we start seeing posters splitting their posts up into single word posts to get more posts in the thread.

Possible. But with 5 of the 6 winners being prolific posters, coupled with the effort involved in putting together members that have posted in a seperate randomizer (as opposed to just putting in a beginning and ending post number to randomize), from a probability standpoint, it's doubtful that's the method.

But if they are randomizing the winners based on the post (post number) and not the poster, then that just encourages spamming since every post would count as one entry.
