I've just checked with my bot how he's picking winners. He says: he chooses a number between 1 and 10 (via random.org), let's call it X. Then he picks X number of timespoints from RANDOM.ORG - Clock Time Generator and goes through the thread and picks out who posted closest to those time points.

Bot says he doesn't think it's a perfect system, and he's refining it to put more weight on times at which more members are online, and will iterate towards the perfect system over time.
Thanks for clearin things up for us :)

Well Me, You and @gofishtx need to figure out the secret to this and SOON
Ha that we do. maybe have to play a little game of... "hold my beer and watch this" to get Ollie Bots attention. Darn I have to start getting ready for work. I will post random posts from random places at work. randomly behind the roses, randomly from the walk in cooler, randomly from the ladies room.... stay tuned

So it is weighted towards whoever spams the thread the post.

I don't forsee any problems with this plan. /sarcasm :)

Good luck everyone.

    Random recipe for the day~

    Buttermilk brined chicken tenders

About 2 pounds of boneless skinless chicken breasts cut into 2 inch pieces
    3 cups of buttermilk
    salt
    Flour (seasoned)
    Cornstarch
2 eggs 1/4 cup or more of milk
    Oil

Place chicken in buttermilk in a covered container add about 1 tablespoon of salt.
cover and set in fridge for 2 days.If you do not have butter milk then place 3 tablespoons of lemon juice in a 4 cup measuring cup and add milk to equal 3 cups let sit for 5 minutes and stir. Voila buttermilk substittute as good as the real thing!
    After two days
Season a couple of cups of flour with your favorite seasonings. ( I like soul seasoning) and about 1 tablespoon of corn starch.
In another bowl wisk eggs and milk
Set out a cookie sheet with a cooling rack set in it

Dredge your chicken in the flour then the egg mixture then the flour again set on rack
Once all of the chicken is coated set the cookie sheet with the chicken on the racks in the fridge for 20-30 minutes

In a deep cast iron skillet or dutch oven heat your oil. Test oil by dipping the corner of one piece of chicken in the oil. If it begins to bubble the oil is ready. (I usually heat and keep the oil on medium)
Add your chicken pieces .. Do not crowd. The pieces should not be touching. Cook for about 2-3 minutes per side using tongs to turn over.
Should be a light golden brown. Drain on paper towels

I've never, ever liked horror movies... but back in the 80s when Elm St first came out, my ex was watching it on HBO, while I read a book in the bedroom. I come out to the kitchen to get something to drink... and got sucked into Elm Street like it was Videodrome! COULD NOT TURN AWAY from that movie.

Hence, the more you post the better your chance. At least until an iteration towards a more perfect system.

Currently, you have The Bot jumping through too many hoops, SJ. That method is just exactly the same as simply randomly picking post numbers.

Who knows? Could be random, could be a raffle of the post ID number as shown in the lower right hand corner of each post, could be karma?

Going back to the 15millionth post contest, only the grand prize was actually the 15mil post. There were LOTS of other winners. EVERYONE was having a LOT Of fun trying to entertain each other in that thread, and a family of friendships was born in that thread. I don't know how they picked all the other winners, but it did seem that almost all of them were the ones having the most fun with it. And the Grand Prize winner, USMCotaku, was definitely high in the Karma dept. in THAT thread. You can't do much about your post ID #, or randomness, but Karma is in your hands... ;) I'm guessing ECF just wants you to have fun, and entertain each other.
