Had a squirrel running around in the house on Christmas day many years ago. It destroyed the living room and they like to eat candles for some reason. Found it hiding in the Christmas tree chased it around the house with my .22 and finally disposed of it. Only 1 extra hole in the wall after the chase.

It was the "Christmas Vacation" movie in real life

My mother seems to run a squirrel orphanage, every time I stop by she's raising a new set of pups, and there's always a half dozen adults she's released back to the wild coming by the back porch looking for free peanuts.
