I don't think that's entirely true. The app allows you to do those things without running through the device menus. However, I am relatively certain that you can access everything from the device - esp. temp control.So reading up on the device, it says to have temperature control you must have the app and purchase it for $2.99 which is alright.. BUT in order to use the app you have to have android 4.3 or higher.. I don't have a smart phone and my tablet is only android 4.2.2
Also, the app controls the led light colors on the mod.
So, I wont be able to use temperature control or change the led lights. I'm not really complaining, but if I'd bought the mod and not been able to use the temperature control I'd be upset. smok should know that not everyone has or wants a smartphone. It seems like a pretty cool device, but I'll be unable to use the cool features.
Still I'm happy to have won one.. I can't wait to get my hands on the tank, triple coils and more coils coming, quad coils.. holey moley, good thing I have a stock pile of juice.
Of course, if you're not happy with it.... my phone is up to Android 5.1, and my tablet at 4.4.3... you could ship it over here

I have heard some of the grousing about those that are able to post frequently getting a better shot than those that cannot.
Honestly, the fact that we get to post at all is a win.
