So the mini comp is to find the first use of the word vape what about

@SmokeyJoe

Video: what is the origin of the word vape? | OxfordWords blog

Print quite

It is now two months since Oxford Dictionaries announced ‘vape’ as its word of the year 2014. At the time of choosing, the earliest example editors had found (in the form vaping) was in an article, “Why do People Smoke” in New Society in 1983. The author, Rob Stepney, described a hypothetical device being explored at the time. Further evidence about the word’s origins has subsequently come to light, as we will explore on OxfordWords soon.

He mentions 1981 & 1982 in the video for his articles

I hope all the topics here don't move like this?
No they don't this being a contest, with no posting limits, no topic to speak of combined with a lot of folks who know each other from different areas of ECF and others just meeting it's just going crazy.

@SmokeyJoe
History of E-cigarettes | Vape Away located at Berry Oaks Shopping Center
"In 1981, Jon Phillip Ray received a patent for a Simulated Smoking Device which became known as the FAVOR Smoke-Free Cigarette. Mr. Ray was also credited with inventing the microcompressor and the computer terminal and he was a heavy smoker. He was a true gensis. He died of lung cancer in 1987. Talking with Brenda Ray Coffee, who coined the term “vaping”, made it clear his invented product was to eliminate the negative by-products of smoking tobacco."
Look for a reference to vape/vaping since 2006. He wants use of the word in the modern day era of vaping.
