Will the dual be good for both single and dual
I wouldn't suggest it. You could do it by building the coil between the set screws rather than on either side, and splitting the wick between the 4 juice channels, but the airflow won't be as direct, and I'm not sure you'd enjoy the vape as much.

I haven't tried the single myself, so I can't tell you how good it is. I like the double as long as it is wicked correctly. The triple is nice, but if you went with triple, you might need a different wire to get it in the resistance range you're looking for.

26GA SS316L is still a good choice even for non temp control. The dual coil build will come in towards the low end of your scale.

I think your best choice between Kanthal and Nichrome for your needs is going to be 26GA nichrome. The middle of your resistance scale will be between single and dual coil.
You could also use 26 GA for single, 28 for dual if you want the resistance to be closer to the same single or dual.

I actually find the RCA deck easier to build on. Mine came with my TFV4 Mini. Even though it is called a Clapton deck, you can use whatever wire you want with room for heavier gauge wires. I have not tried the single RBA
I just got my dual coil RBA and I have yet to completely master it, although to be fair, I have only used the stock pre-built coils. 1st time wicking with the stock coils came out perfect, no dry hits and ohms reading .25. After 3 days it started tasting a little burnt, so I decided to re-wick. When I went to dry burn the coil to clean it, one of the coils just fell apart. I replaced with the extra set of stock coils and can only get about 5 or 6 good hits before it taste like a dry hit. I go in to adjust my wicks and they are soaked, so no reason for the taste. I fire it again and still fine for 5 or 6 hits. I will try it today with my own coil builds and let you know how that goes. I am thinking the problem is with the stock coils, not my wicks. It is still an easy deck to build on and so many coil builds you can do on a dual deck:cool: I will master it:grr:
