Hrmmmm....pushing up on the tank, as in, hold the base tightly and try to lift and twist the tank?

Because that's what I'm trying and the tank won't budge. It *appears* to be fixed to the base, but
there are o-rings there so perhaps it WILL separate if I can apply enough torque....kinda skeered I'll
crack/break the plastic tank though....

Just got a Sigelei Telescope #19 today and my RSST refuses to thread on to the device. Other 510 attys will screw on just fine. Any idea on an easy way I can get the RSST to thread on? I really don't want to force it any more than I tried to - yes, I tried to force it...didn't work. :)

The same thing was happening with some of the AC9s, I believe it was batch #2. I fixed mine by purchasing a die, and going over the threads. The size is 7mm x .5. That's standard 510 thread size. After going over the threads, it worked perfectly.

Thanks brother! Once I perfect my wick/coil builds on the RSST I'll fool more with the Cobra.
The RSST is much easier to fail/work with, heh.

yes it is. its amazing how simple it is to work with. I still have not decided if its better than the aga-t2 yet. I do however use the rsst on the go more because of its simplicity and the fill hole cap.

Is it really a threading issue or is the RSST's center 510 connection pos. post sticking out too far at the bottom?

Have you tried pulling it up a bit with a Phillips?

I don't have a Sigelei Telescope #19, but can the pos. battery 510 connection be backed down a bit with screwdriver from inside it?

I am pretty sure it's not that. I posted last page back how I am having the same issue w/ trying to screw it down onto a Natural, which IIRC it's basically supposed to be a match for that mod. I can thread a carto or a nimbus on the natural but not the RSST. Oddly enough, I can thread the RSST on a Provari and a eGo battery, but not the Natural. I did back the center pen on the natural down but that's not the problem, it barely gets a 1/4 turn in and seizes up on my Natural.

Guess I have to buy a die for a $25 atty >.>

My RSST & Natural just arrived ... it only threaded down as far as the Natural's top 510 connection leaving a large gap which I just spent half an hour grinding down so it sits flush

My RSST threads just fine, just way too much gap in every mod I have, and why I shaved the 510 down on the Natural.

Next, fix the leaks around the center post -- 2 custom EPDM seals ... almost done. After that, PTFE up the drip tip as it's almost falling off the the over-sized hole they cut into the cap.

Not bad for a new item that just arrived. Won't be ordering another one. At least the threading is OK, which was the worst of my concerns.

Oh yeah, and the tank ... is a type of polycarb -- so no flavors containing alcohols.

Hello World, can you show pictures of how you fixed the center leak problem?
I will. Just trashed the ones I made.

'The Natural' is not a telescopic mod and has somewhat limited adjustment for different battery sizes. Have several Panny 2900 High Drains on the way which I need to have in order to determine how much I'll have to cut off the bottom cap pin, how much to grind down the mod's pos. 510 connection, the exact setting of the RSST's pos. pin to set new EPDM seals. Everything is dependent on everything else.

When I get back to that point, I'll post pics.

finally got my 5s and now able to post here

here's my solution to the rsst leak:
Been a lurker on ECF for awhile now. I couldn't post this in the appropriate thread because I'm new and finally registered to share my fix.

No matter how tightly I tried to screw in the ends of the RSST, over time juice would tend to seep out of the base. I noticed was the height of the center, inner cylindrical wall is shorter than the outer wall of the tube. What I did was removed the silicon sleeve of a spent CE5 coil head and fitted it over the inner cylindrical wall. No need to make any additional cuts or anything. The silicon sleeve fits snugly over the inner tube and the SS center rod passes right through perfectly. Going on 3 days now and not a drop of leak!

My initial attempt to rectify the leakage was to use a chemical resistant o-ring (beige in color) over the SS center rod, sandwiched in between the top deck and inner tube. This did prevent the leak, however, vaping gave off an unpleasant taste. I'm guessing the heat from vaping was causing the the o-ring to give off something.

Hope this helps somebody :)

I finally got the RSST to thread on to #19 last night by working the threads over and over. I put some vaseline on the RSST threads and just kept screwing/unscrewing and eventually I got it to screw all the way down. I then cleaned out the #19 threads with a q-tip and some alcohol and everything is nice and smooth now.

The threads on the RSST must have been messed up because everything else I tried on the #19 threaded without issue.

If your coils in the middle glow red hot not enough juice is getting to your wick.

I suggest to trash that coil and wick, as you have a major short and have likely damaged the mesh at this point. (You could also re-roll the mesh inside out, so the the damaged portion is near the center of the wick.)

Roll/reroll a new solid wick. Wrap your Kanthal wire around the wick so there are no voids, but not on too tight either.

Then "Pulse-oxidize" it with a mechanical until you get all your coils glowing evenly, making adjustments as necessary. Don't put juice into your tank until that's all done and working properly.

What you're tasting there bro are those delicious hot spots. Your coil should fire up evenly from the middle out. Like Rule said... make sure your coil is making consistent contact with the wick throughout the whole coil. It does take a couple tries sometimes. keep at it. I use a small eyeglasses flathead to help space out the coil after I wrap it. Remember not too tight and not too loose on the wraps.
