I too have spent a lot of money on bats, tank and juice. But I do feel I have found my place (at least for now). I use almost every thing I bought and regret buying very little. You will find your groove soon. And I love the SID, seems much more consistent then my mvp 2.

Thanks for the reply. I can't wait to get my SID tomorrow. I still love my 2 iTaste vv, plan on using them for work and when I need something smaller. The SID however is going to be my go to. Hopefully this will end the madness for a little.

I got mine today!
This is my first APV .
Been only using it for a few hours. Pbusardo does a good review on them.
Some have had problems with it when it first came out, so be sure to buy from a reputable vendor. Maybe SmokTech has all the qc issues worked out
Mine is black, but not rubberized ego finish like id hoped. Oh well. Seems to be a solid unit.
I didn't think the menu was tricky IMO.
Also, people talk about crunchy threads. They aren't perfect, but I didn't have nearly the crunch people were describing. Again, I think smoktrch may have worked out a lot of the issues since they were released 6 mos ago.

It seems like it is good for what it was intended for. Again, pbusardo really sold me on it for my first APV. The price helped too, found mine for 45.

If you look at PBusardo's site Taste My Juice he lists what he likes and recommends. The two APV's are the Vamo and SID. I have a vamo and was looking for a SID then found the Lambo 6 on sale for $39 and jumped on it since they found what caused PBusardo's problem with it. It seems you need IMR batteries that can go to 20 amps or better for anything above 15 watts depending on the ohms. I still might pick up a SID though as it had some features I like about the Vamo and don't like about the Lambo such as not being able to remove the ring below the atty.

First off, sorry to hijack the thread with my own issues but I didn't see an owners group for the SID and since that's the topic of discussion here figured I would jump in.

I picked up a SID from someone off eBay, don't know whether to regret it or enjoy it as I'm starting to see a problem.

First off, the device doesn't have SID on the tube, but I was assured it was authentic after receiving it and noticing. The seller has no negative reviews, so I tend to believe them. That part didn't concern me as much until I started using it. The menu system looks 100% right, down to the shortened words on parts of the menu. Day one I charged up the battery (panasonic 18650 flat top), which I knew already to be used. The SID powered up, vaped without issues for the most part. At one point I went to vape, nothing. Looked at the screen and fired, nothing. I figured the battery was dead because I had been vaping a while. I removed the battery, tossed it on the charger (only one I have currently) and let it go. Once charged I started vaping. Shortly after it did the same thing, unresponsive. Again, removed the battery and tossed it back in and it powered up and vaped no problem. This has happened several times now on different tanks/coils so I don't think it's shorting out. It should so the warning if it were.

Any ideas?

Last week while visting wife's sister, she deceided she wanted an SID. Within an hour of use she was complaining about it misfiring. Swapped in another battery with the same results. She returned to the B&M and exchanged it for another. Later that day the new one was doing similar misfiring. Returned this one as well but this time the replacement was a VTR.
I had been considering an SID but based on her experience I've deceided to pass on SID's.

Well that sucks. VTR looks nice, but it's the fact that it's built like a tank would make it too heavy for my day to day carrying.

Thus far the person I purchased the SID from is doing his best to make sure I'm happy and has requested I try a button top battery. Unfortunately the local shop I visit, almost daily, is out of the AW IMR 18650s they usually stock. So once I get my hands on one I guess we'll see what happens.

The newer Sids do not have anything on the tube not sure about the other issue though.

S.I.D.s are known to stop working all of a sudden. Had 2 of them do it to me. Just unscrew to bottom cap to brake the ground connection, reinsert the cap & you should be good to go. Also, the firing button tends to start crapping out after 6-8 months of regular use. The voltage & wattage are not all that accurate either. This has been my experience. But for 35-45 bucks, it'll do. For the gritty treads, I've found just a dab of Vaseline works wonders.

Sounds like you've experienced the exact issue as I have. It's really just an annoyance, something I guess I can live with. Thanks for the feedback twizted.

My SID has 6 months of steady daily use without a single hitch except the center pin. Easy to pull up a little but be super careful doing it. I only use protanks and an igo-l on it 7 watts for the tanks and 10-11 for my dripper depending on my coil build. I don't even mess with any functions anymore except ohms when I build a coil. It has become a set and forget type of mod. I don't lose settings with a battery switch.

Buy a 350 sized tube and some 18350 batts. It's much easier to keep in the pocket when out and about with a 350 size tube. I really have zero complaints with mine. It's been a steady workhorse.

just ordered one from rtdvapor.com. $35 with shipping. I've been reading reviews nad watching youtube video's all day about this mod. it seems very few people have negative opinions on this compared to positive. I am replacing my lavatube clone which I do not like too much. At this price I think it's worth a shot, especially since I have the batteries and charger already.
