So, heard about Vapor Joe for the first time today. While going through his posts, I saw one for the SmokTech SID, with a 10% off coupon (Smok Tech SID variable voltage and variable wattage advanced personal vaporizer, has coupon in item description.), and it really piqued my interests. Even without the coupon, it's pinged right in the middle of my price range. I know it's so new that no one has tried it, but I was wondering more if anyone knows when they are supposed to be released? I can do with waiting 2 weeks to a month or so, but I don't want it to arrive at my door in like 5 months or so, mostly because I highly doubt i'll be in this apartment in 5 months. There's a few others I have been eyeballing (mainly the Gripper VV), but this really caught my attention and was wondering if anyone knew anything.

That doesn't look like a pre-order. Vaportek explains pre-orders and gives an approximate date of arrival. It looks like they only have the "polished aluminum" in stock though.

Personally I'd wait for reviews. It's a VV/VW device, which means a lot of idiosyncrasies that aren't usually an issue in something like a mechanical mod. If it's cheap enough for you to consider it a "junk drawer" item if it doesn't work well, go for it.

So, looks like i'm gonna be the guinea pig for all y'all then. The only reason why I bring it up as a pre-order is because that's what Vapor Joe's website says, as well as everywhere else has it for pre-order only. I'll order one up and give it a try. Needed a new PV anyway, was tired of having a single eGo.

It looks like an anyvape v2 which looks like an evic. Probably has the same chip as the anyvape/zmax/vamo/tesla/SVD. At this point, if someone is to make something that looks like the evic, I'd like to see a new chip that mimics it's better features but with higher limits rather than just the form factor with the zmax function.

Well, either way I took the jump on it. Figured it was in my price range, so lets give it a try. If it doesn't work out for some reason, i'm not out much. If I like it, i'll see about getting it annodized.

Edit: just got confirmation that it has shipped, which means it is in stock as of right now if anyone is interested. I tried using the coupon code it gave in the description, but it told me the code was not valid. Just a heads up on that. When it comes in, i'll put it through it's paces and play with it some. I have another rebuildable on the way, as well as a few different attys sitting around. I'll give my two cents in a post when i'm through with it.

I think you'll be fine with it, as stated earlier the basic theme of the device has been well battle tested. The thing that bothers me about these things trying to duplicate the EVIC without adding any updatable software. As we all saw there were many problems with the original version of the EVIC that they fixed via the software. Like I said though this looks like a nice sharp standard VV/VW device and should perform as such...Keep us updated chrisrook!

Will do! I was looking at a Vamo anyway, but must admit that I prefer the way this looks. Got tracking info too, says it should be here Tuesday afternoon. Upsetting cause I wanted ro have it Tuesday morning for my fiance's morning-class-so-I-have-time-alone-to-watch-x-files-and-vape time. It's a Tuesday ritual for me. But, ill just do it in my afternoon one. I'll let y'all know how it goes with my atty collection.

Bump: SID came in a day early! Unfortunately, my fiance still doesn't know I bought it, so it's sitting out in the car. First impression though: simple, but nice packaging; solid feel, but very light without a battery; button is very clicky, but i'm used to a eGo, so no big deal; instruction manual very small, also kind of confusing, so i'll have to study that; looks real nice, can't wait to vape it! I will use it tomorrow morning while my fiance is in class and let y'all know how it goes. Also gives me a chance to rebuild my attys and charge the batteries.

Alright, I went to go use the unit today and have experienced a few problems so far. First off, my Trustfire 18650 batteries won't fit unless the wrapper was removed. Secondly, the unit would not power on. I clickex the button 5 times, held it, nothing. So, either something is wrong with my freshly charged brand new batteries, or the unit is DOA. I have more batteries at home, i'll try one of those and get back.
