Thanks, i'll put it on my list of things to order. Right now I have a Trustfire charger to go with my 18650 and 18350 batteries. Gonna stop by and pick up one battery today local, and order at least 2 more offline. If all goes well, and I didn't fry it or get a DOA, should have an update around 7 tonight.

Was about to come on and say that Madvapes has it in stock. Same price I paid too. Personally, I would have bought it through them if I had to do it again, more familiar and comfortable with them and coukd have gotten DIY supplies. Anyway, no USB port, just a single button eVic lookalike. I'm hoping to make it to the store before it closes for a battery, but I might be cutting it by minutes. Just to be safe, the Samsung 2600mah battery for the eVic is a high drain battery right?

Well, so far, I'm a big fan...mostly for aesthetic reasons but for some performance reasons too. I should mention that I'm comparing this to other VW devices I own (ZMax V2, Vamo, eVic).

SID-1.jpgSID-2.jpgSID-3.jpgSID-4.jpgSID-5.jpg

First off, it feels great in the hand. The texture is pretty much identical to that of an eGo battery (which I love), and when the light catches it (the red one, anyway), it's even more gorgeous.

Though my Vamo and ZMax occasionally misfired, even from early on, this SID is reliable as they come so far. To the extent that there have been no misfires yet - not one! I also rather love that there are only three clicks necessary to enter the menu system. The OLED screen is very clear and easy to read, though doesn't enjoy the same visibility in sunlight that the Vamo does.

The bottom spring is quite substantial, though the threads are crunchy "a la" eVic, given that the material is textured in the threads just as it is for the top and bottom caps. There's really no new technological ground being broken with this device, but I absolutely love it. The bottom line is that I enjoy holding it more than anything I currently own. It's incredibly handsome and well put together. It has all the features that I need to vape at my 8-Watt sweet spot, check device resistance, and enjoy all the menu and safety features that seem increasingly standard.

Do I think everyone should run out and get one? No. You may well be happy with your current stable of devices that do exactly the same thing.

What I will say, is that now that mine is here, it's the best device I've purchased so far and my new favourite.

Bingo! This is exactly the kind of mini review I was looking for heh heh... I was about to buy the Zmax V2, but this seems like the same thing (ok lighter weight probably) at half the price... And with a new OLED instead of LED.

Now I just need a Canadian supplier ;)

Quick question about the texture... By an eGo battery do you mean that rubbery grippy stuff? It does look like that from the pics...

They've got them at CanVape, and yes, that rubbery grippy stuff.

Thanks Duane for your input! This was my first mod, so it's good to have someone with experience chime in! Love the red by the way, was the color I originally wanted. Just a heads up, the tube threads are the same as the eVic (tested by me at my local B&M with a Joyetech eVic replacement tube) so you can use the eVic 18350 tube if you want.

Duane... Can't thank you enough :p

Just going through CanVapes other stuff to put together a decent size order.

I'm also getting the RED.. Just too sexy to pass up heh heh

It's my pleasure!

I don't know if you just started vaping recently TrashCat, but when I did, I remember being so frustrated sometimes with trying to get details about devices and such. It was always easy to find threads like...

Title: Love my new ___________! :D
Post Content: Came in vapemail today, and I just lurvs it! Whaddaya y'all think about that! :headbang::smokie:

Don't get me wrong, those threads get lots of congratulatory messages - and they should. We love to celebrate our collective freedom from tobacco, and it's one of the best parts of these forums.

When it comes to devices though, I've just always found myself wishing for photos and descriptions of things not found elsewhere. Too often, even in the reviews section of this forum, the reviews include either no pictures, the pics included are only of the device sitting on a desk looking pretty (in the reviewer's favourite configuration), or the pics were pulled straight from vendor and manufacturer sites, and those don't always yield certain details that a potential buyer might be curious about. Even though it wasn't meant to be, I'm sure my "mini-review" above isn't fully comprehensive (and I probably could have done better), but it's also not in the reviews section.

Still, I may review it after I've spent more quality time with it, and if I do I'll be sure to photograph every nook and cranny of this thing and offer details of what it should do better, and what it does well.

DISCLAIMER: Of course, I don't believe that everyone who owns a device has an inherent responsibility to post details and pictures. This post was not intended to be a rant, so I hope it's not taken that way. And now, the obligatory smilies...
