What kind of switch does your Tele have? When you unscrew the switch, do you see a spring, or do you see a flat battery contact and some white plastic with two little holes?

I have a SS Tele and my switch is the later described. What I have had happen is, the negative battery post nut back off and cause it to fire the device on it's own. Causing the switch to heat up. Try taking the switch apart and tighten it all back up. Pain in the @$$, I know, these things are junk.

Plastic insert in switch is threaded and easily backed out (lefty loosey, righty tighty) with a wooden skewer or toothpick. This is the part that will loosen and cause the Tele to fire at it's will. It is just a screw, little spring and nut. It needs to be tight.

Once this part is removed from switch, you will see how the "other" part of it works. This is the part that constantly needs tightening or the switch becomes loose and will snap.

Yeah, I haven't been too impressed with the switch on this thing (stainless). It started to back off and unscrew itself a few timse until I got into it and tightened the crap out of it. Otherwise, I love the mod. I really want to try some of the other mods out there like the Lavafire Mech
or the Tec Mod.
Anyone have .02 on these guys?

Like the look of the lava fire, wonder if it comes in stainless steel? Would also be interesting to know if that top cap is threaded, looks like a good device for the kick if the top cap comes off. Nice to see a device like this with a flat top cap too.

I have the LavaFire. Awesome device. The "Rocket" version (with the banding on the body) has a threaded top cap. I don't know about the top on the other model.

Same thing happened to me. That nut backed off and the thing was straight on in my pocket! Got real hot!! I was just going to put some loctite on it. Simple enough.

I was thinking of a dab of thread lock as well. Just got to be careful not to get any on the spring. It looks looks like there is enough room for a lock washer, on the negative post and the plunger part of the switch.

I put a bit a dab on it and tightened it down. Working great for the last couple days. I also threw some of the lighter, more temporary kind on the bottom and top caps. I always unscrew it in the middle and I was tired of the caps loosening when I would us the button lock or unscrew the clearo.
