Hey guys I wanted to ask about the milling on the new top vent holes on the latest model of the telescope. Are they anything like the vent holes on the sides of the Zmax also by Smoktech, by this I mean are the edges sharp like they can almost cut your hand? I hated this lack of attention to detail on the Zmax and I am concerned it can also be seen on the new revisions of the telescope.

Mines smooth and I got it from madvapes.

Can someone who has the gun metal Telescope comment on the gun metal finish? Is it durable or does it wear out easily as it apparently does on the gun metal Bolt? I've also seen it referred to as black chrome, but I have a black chrome Silver Bullet and it is quite different than what is referred to as 'gun metal.'

I got one that was described as "black chrome". Was told it was the same thing as gunmetal, but I wouldn't know, really. I've been using my "black chrome" telescope heavily every day all day; it's my main PV (I hardly touch my others, except the eGo T mod at night when I'm in bed) for a month now, and I've dropped it on the hard floors, knocked it over, am always fiddling/handling/rubbing it (okay, so I'm a bit on the nervous side), it's gotten all manner of cooking spices and salt, soap, rubbing alcohol, dog drool and whatnot on it...and the finish is still perfect.

Mine is built very solidly...I have confidence in it's integrity. It does not feel or act "cheap" at all. The finish appears to be a good electroplate chrome. NO complaints. I very much consider it the best of my PVs at this time (although I have paid considerably more for other devices.)

Haha, that's awesome. Exactly the answer I was hoping for and then some. Rubbing? :p Thanks much, Fourthrok!

Sounds great! Yeah, I really like my SS Telescope and have been using it a lot. It's a very comfortable mod to use. I would definitely like a second one, just trying to settle on a color. I also like the dual tone Tele at Litecigusa: Smoktech Telescopic APV

Gotta inject a caveat here...I did not get mine from MadVapes. I get a lot of things from them but this was not one of them. I can't speak for the quality of the ones there. May not be the same as mine, as mine does not have the same type venting as MVs does (it does have venting though). Also I question if my firing button is the same. Just saying.

Oh! I rather like the looks of that! Very nice! I already have another fully mechanical I'll be getting first of Dec. or I might jump on that...but perhaps later in December? Hmmm.

Smoktech Zmaxs don't have those vent holes. Mad Vapes added them to the Zmaxs they were selling. My Mad Vapes Zmax has them but they aren't sharp. I've heard a couple of people say they were a bit sharp on their Mad Vapes ones. My Smoktech Zmax doesn't have them (not from Mad Vapes).

just got one from Liberty Flights for 29.23 shipped:vapor:

Obviously you hit the 40% Black Friday sale!! lol!! Very good! That is where I got my black chrome telescope, too...over a month ago and now it's pretty much the only PV I use! Hubby and I were just over there getting him some juice and me some more EMSCC 2ohms....we would have to order first of Dec. anyway. This saved us some money.

Nice, a thumbs up from Pbusardo. I don't mind the vent holes, what's the big deal about vent holes? Whatever, that can be easily fixed and some have more than others. My ss has four up top and two at the bottom. I don't know about the gun metal yet, but will know in a few hours. And the fact that some threading shows when using a Kick is another thing that can be easily remedied in future revisions. I have to remember to put the Kick at the bottom like Pbusardo did, since the switch is at the bottom. I'm used to putting a Kick on top of the battery in other mods that have a switch towards the top.

Thanks for posting the review, Kiwivap.

Once again...not to labor under the impression anyone actually reads my posts, and not to beat a dead horse...but Pbusardo MAY have gotten one of the "early" models originally released and modded by MV. Or whoever modded it with those vent holes. I completely agree with him about all those vent holes. Talk about overkill! lol! For some reason (and I have to think it was modifications made by SmokTech since the original release earlier this year) there are currently TWO versions of this same telescope. One is littered with vent holes...one isn't. The one that isn't is, I believe, the "newer from the factory" ones from the manufacturer itself. I know about the telescopes with all the holes up top.

Mine does NOT have all those vent holes. And people who got their telescopes from HECS or LF do not have all those holes. On the models sold by the vendors I just mentioned there is one vent hole at the bottom of the top tube near the threads and another one on the base tube under the battery. You really can't see the battery through either of the holes except barely through the single hole at the connection between the two tubes pieces if using a 18650 battery. Got to pretty much look for it, though. The vent holes on my model are completely smooth..not "sharp" or rough.

Glad to see this terrific mod get a good review...maybe now the disbelievers will start to believe. Mine has performed flawlessly...is not "wiggly", sits straight, the tanks/cartos sit straight, it's solid and feels and looks high quality. Agree with everything Pbusardo says with the exception of the vent hole thing (but that wasn't his fault..that just happened to be the model he got to review!) . Two thumbs up!

Just got the gun metal Telescope in this morning from MadVapes. And yes, it has 6 vent holes around the top, which I don't really mind, but 6 is a bit excessive. But what do I know about venting battery gases. I do run stacked batts in some of my mods, so maybe it's not such a bad thing to have extra vents for just in case. There are also three other holes around the gun metal. It's holey like swiss cheese! :D

Ah, the threads were really squeaky, so I hit it with some WD40 and they're smooth as butter now.
