Got home from work and was stoked to see a package from seven vapes containing my smpl clone and derringer rda clone. What a clean compact combo. Did a five wrap 24 gauge which read .31 on meter. Loving the results. I've been slipping up and smoking cigs the past few days. All 7 roommates (live in a recovery house) smoke so the temptation is real. I think this one will finally get me off the sticks. One can only hope

that looks good , it also has ventilation on the batteries

24 gauge is good choice , I have 28 gauge , no matter what the build is , it is just not good . 24 gauge and below with 5 wraps hits really hard and I like that regardless if I am doing mouth or lung hits and with mouth hits , your press the button for one second and your mouth is full of smoke LOL

I wouldn't put a SMPL mod anywhere near my face, looks like way to much potential for shorts. Just my opinion.

I run a few SMPL's and have not had any problem. I did get some bad clones and they were definitely little bombs. No vent holes in the fire button and when you screwed in the fire button, they would auto-fire. Back they went to the dealer with a note that they should no sell those anymore. The OP's setup is a nice one, love the little Derringer on a SMPL.

If you have an idea what you are doing Smpl and other hybrids are safe as a mech can be.

Op did you get 1 with a spring or a magnetic switch? I have 1 of both, the spring has been going strong for 5 months. The magnet switch worked fine until i dropped it from pretty high and 1 of the magnets broke. 2 different clones so the switch arent interchangeable which sucks.

You can wrap yourself a spring with some 20.ga. kanthal. Just find the appropriate size drill bit and wrap one up. Works like a charm!!

I got a SMPL and derringer (clone) a few days ago, after salivating for one for a few months.

I cant believe the flavor and clouds that come out of it. It really gives everything else I have a run for its money. The clouds are impressive for such a tiny RDA, must be the density that does it. The flavor seems to be a touch better then everything else i have, cleaner and more robust.

I do think the safety awareness has to be ramped up for it, since it uses the battery casing for an insulator, so I check my bats casing insulator compulsively. And the 510 must stick out (NO Pro Tanks, LOL). I polished up the bottom of the button where it hits the battery with a felt wheel and polish compound, but other than that it was good out of the box.

The Derringer was as easy as build, wick, drip and vape. 26 g @ .3 ohm. I really thought it would vape too hot, but its fine as long as it has juice on it.
Ran my bat down to 3.5 today cause it was just running so darn good, :?)

Got it for 30 and some change. Feel free to spend your money on authentics, I'd rather have several clones. What do you mean when you say you check the casing insulator on your batteries?

i think he means the wrap around your battery. just make sure its not torn or anything and the battery is making direct contact with anything else, ordered me a bunch of battery wraps just to be safe since im gona be using some mech mods, and ive heard of some mech mods just not being well and arcing/damaging the batteries.

there are to many mods to list that dont have any insulator in the switch Chi You and King are some of the more noted ones. So you have to make sure your batteries have the wrap in good shape to uses them. If you dont like to devote some time in to cleaning and making sure your equipment is in good working order this kind of mod is not for you.

I really like my SMPL clone. ($20.00 Focalecig) I think it looks pretty cool with the Freakshow mini!

Ya, I think thats the next RDA for this little guy, will look so cool.

Yes, that tiny bit of wrapper that`s on the bottom of the battery is the actual switch insulator, you want to check this carefully and make sure it not getting chewed on by the switch, any little cut here and the mod will start auto firing as soon as the switch hits it and there is not easy way to get the switch out quickly. I only use my thumb nail to snug up the switch, I would not use any sort of tool to crank down on it so that it does`nt damage this wrap on the bottom of the battery.

:?)

The wrapper on the outside of the battery is critical for bottom fired mechs
