Just got my SMPL mod in the mail. The quality is amazing for the price I paid (13,47). I'm assuming this is a clone? If so, very surprised. Definitely the best mod for the money I've ever purchased. I love how small it is. Hits just as hard as my Rig Mod. Loving the magnetic switch too. I've been using spring loaded heavy switches (I have a very strong right pinky now) and this is very pleasant to hit. My button top batteries don't fit very well (definitely designed for a flat top) but I can make them work with the switch not screwed on all the way. Also, comes polished very well. I hit mine with some mothers mag and aluminum polish and the polish barely turned dark at all even after polishing for 5 minutes. Couldn't tell a difference after all that work.

I own 2 smpl clones. A brass (black painted) and a copper. The brass is an a-mod clone, very tight SPRING trigger. The copper is an infinite clone, with a decent to weak trigger. But they both chuck clouds.... love the smpl.

how is the finish on the black one? does it chip easily? does it look greasy after holding it a lot?

Have four SMPL's (black, copper, SS, and brass) made by Moander. The black one didn't get much use, only a few days; the top where the atty screws in around the edges are chipped a bit. Not noticeable till you take off the atty. No greasy look unless your hands are covered in it. Matte look.

Button is amazing. Got the copper one weeks before the rest and never had a problem. Only thing is my SS and Brass one had a different type of button, it works just as well as the original, but they are sending the guy who ran the group buy the original type.

Update: i got a copper SMPL clone from A-mod back in December and I've been using it all-day, every-day. I love this thing. It is everything a mechanical should be in my opinion. Very elegantly simple design and very low voltage drop. i carry it in the coin pocket of my pants and i have never had an issue with firing when i dont want it to. the spring is stiff enough, and button recessed enough, that i dont think it ever will.
I'll be buying more clones and very quite possibly an original. Best mechanical I've owned hands down.
