Hi, and welcome to the ECF I have never shocked myself with any mod of any kind. 4 to 8 volts DC is pretty small for human skin to conduct well enough to feel a shock anyway. I will say the SMPL mods frighten me a good bit. I do not care for the "no center pin" faux-hybrid design. It seems to easy to me to short a battery at the positive pole.

If you're getting shocked by your SMPL mod, something is wrong. I can't suggest troubleshooting techniques, but I'm sure one of the gurus will be by shortly to assist. I can only say make sure the center pin on the tank/atty extends BEYOND the threads. If it is too close to the same length the battery top can flex in and short out against the threads and will fry (literally) the battery. Also, make sure the center pin isn't spring loaded. that's about all I know about SMPL mods.

So you've had it happen to you?

What type of atty are you using on it?

I have gotten shocked once with mine!! BUT it was not a flaw with the SMPL it was a tiny pice of cut wire from the coil build had gotten stuck against the inside of the atty. It was very tiny. but was touching the well that holds the coil and also touching the inside of the cap that goes over the coils that holds the tip.

Aside from that fluke I have not had that problem with my SMPL.

I have had no problems with my smpl I've only had it a few days , although I will say be careful with the plume veil (Mine was a tobeco clone)

I had an instance where my center pin and post pushed up and became shorter than the 510 connector (luckly it was on my ragnarok and did not short, I will not put it on my smpl , if you do use it make sure not to over tighten the button I stop tightening as soon as I feel it against my battery and remove the battery before I set it down
