still gotta take my son to this "mountain house " on skyline for some non traditional meats lol ..did you ever eat there or were you gone to Idaho already ? I think it used to be "alex's " .
Alice's is great for a Sunday breakfast, the gal that owns it (if she still owns it used to be a client of mine). Mountain House, Alex's, it used to be called something before that, but I have eaten there in 20 years. I do remember they had a smoked caribou salad served with an apricot dressing that was out of this world. Perhaps the best salad I have ever eaten.
If I get a chance I try to hit the Prime Rib Inn in the city, Gary Danko's by Fort Mason, The Boathouse at Lake Merced for a burger and beer, Kani Kosen in Pacifica for the best fresh Sushi, Kinkaids in Burlingame awesome bar, Casa Lupe in downtown Los Altos, Fiesta Del Mar in Mtn. View, Claimjumper in Fremont, and the Alpine Inn in Portola Valley(Rizottis). Love the Alpine Inn, the floors are dirty, the burgers will send you to the hospital, but downing a couple 40's on a lazy summer Sunday afternoon out back on the benches is worth being ill.
