Double-Barrel Cherry/Berry Cherry
Throat Hit: 3.25 - 3.5
Flavor: 4.25 - 4.75 (starts at 4.25…12 draws later it is a 4.75)
Vapor Production: 4
Of all the fruit flavors Cherry maybe the most if not one of the most difficult to replicate. When I first tried this flavor a week and half ago the cigar flavor was spot-on-target. But the Cherry flavor really fell apart, it seemed chalky and a little funky…like a children’s cherry flavored cough syrup or a St Joseph’s Childrens aspirin.
After steeping it the Cherry flavor has gotten a lot better and more balanced. The chalky factor has certainly disappeared and the mild cigar flavoring couldn’t be any better. For those familiar with cherry flavored tobacco wraps or cherry flavored cigars like a Corona or a Tatiana, this may just be your vape. The flavor gets better after the first dozen or so draws.
Cherry is definitely the predominate flavor but the cigar flavoring gets stronger as you progress through the inhale….yet it never overpowers the cherry….same goes for the exhale. It leaves a very pleasant and clean aftertaste of cherry which is not perfumey or overly sweet. There is no sweet cherry syrup residue left on your palate or lips. Oddly enough it doesn’t really have a lingering aroma….at least my wife hasn’t said anything and that’s a good indicator.
The juice itself is a dark iced tea brown and flows into a carto easily. Like Stogie it has a surprisingly mild Throat Hit and does well for vapor production. Now, when I say that…it doesn’t mean it is absent of a Throat Hit, but it certainly is not as strong as Aces and 8s or Gunslinger. Until the recent release of Stogie most cigar flavors I have ever tried have a pretty strong Throat Hit.
I do think this is a flavor that needs to steep for a week and you need to get about 12 draws on it for the flavor to balance out. But once it does balance out it is a very pleasant vape that is hard to put down. I would put the PG/VG ratio somewhere around 65/35. I think a Gun Barrel Peach would make a fine addition to this line as well.
Oops...I forgot to mention that there is a notable difference between the Wow and Cool Cartos. These cigar flavors really seem to like the heat an get more pronounced on the cigar end with a Wow Carto, even more so on a PT. At 5v this really puts out some great vapor.
Glad I revisited this flavor.....and no...this one is not up for grabs.
