Thanks for posting this Stubby!

Victor I do think they will do a good job - just the little preview alone seems + to me when Leslie Stahl mentioned switching one addiction for the other and the guy says: "Addiction is better than lung cancer".

I'm sure they will quote the low cancer rates in Sweden, etc. and I'm glad they will be talking about Sweedish snus as well because when I saw the first guy in the clip and the Camel Snus I was like: uh, oh.

Away..
We can hope for positive comments, but tobacco is just a target.
I can see an easy way to show how much harm reduction compared to cigarettes is, but depending on who does it, they can just as easily say it's a false sense of security.
I did like the comment abt it being better than lung cancer.

They need to go after fast food, high cholestrol and heart attacks.
Force them to watch 3+ hrs(oh, 1 movie) day after day of Kevin Costner movies might help their attitudes.

I think it will also be more sensationalistic "all addiction is bad.. m'kay?" stuff, completely ignoring all shades of grey in between the facts.

I hope it doesn't go that way, and I hope that it is fair and balanced but it IS mainstream media that gets money from advertising revenue so we'll see who is pulling the strings at CBS.

Just listened to the WoW audio clip, thanks Stubby, promising. The focus in this clip on harm reduction is what bodes so well.

I first saw this over to snuson as well, looked at the video preview and all I could think was, yeah right; American media is gonna do another biased, talking head, un-researched piece that the masses will unthinkingly digest and take as gospel...... just gloom and doom was all I could envisage.

That audio clip gives me hope. VCR will be set as I don't want to miss it.

Oh yeah, I like Kevin Costner movies :pervy:

Hullo Aunt Cranky!

Like your sig, apparently Franky has a bit of the Mother in him besides Mothers of Invention

"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will" ;)

zappa. is(was). god. I wonder if he would have snus-ed had snus been more readily available.....but then again, zappa wouldn't be zappa if he didn't have a cigarette in his mouth while he played...

I do like that last line in the trailer... "addiction is a problem, but less of a problem than lung cancer." Seems pretty pointed to me, but then again I see most of life as a harm reduction exercise... I don't like seat-belts or motorcycle helmets, but recognize that I'm participating in a activity with elevated risk and those are ways to mitigate the threat. Seems like a no-brainer...

I'm pretty sure the fellow Leslie Stahl interviewed knows he's a nicotine addict now...She reminded him at least 5 times!! Someone should look him up and offer him a 510 kit.....Brushing your teeth with a snus in?? C'mon!! I think a better candidate for the positive aspects of snus use could have been selected!(Like someone who has quit smoking using snus!)

The oposing viewpoint person(forgot her name already),couldn't have been more to the left of the anti gang. I really enjoyed the side by side with the orbs and tic-tacs.....I'm sure a few hunderd more young adults will be hitting the smoke shops tommorow!

Just glad my "Dual Use" addiction consists of Vaping and Snuff use!

I give the segment 7 out of 10
