So can you still die if you use ecigs?

And almonds contain cyanide.
You can die from drinking too much water and it's actually called water poisoning (also water intoxication) which basically implies water is poison/toxic.

I think the moral of the story here is to take all things in moderation and yes even vaping. I agree with not knowing the full effects over time though, it is a fairly new idea and it took people a long long time to realize that cigs were killing us prematurely. But like everyone knows for sure, you aren't getting all the extra crap you get with cigs vs vaping. I noticed a big difference in sleeping, breathing, energy, and tasting about a week without cigs so I know its been a beneficial change for me.

In a word, "yes".

It is 100% certain you will die. As Jim Morrison once said, and later proved, "No one here gets out alive".

Most of us who are now vaping smoked cigarettes. Some of us smoked packs of cigarettes, daily, for decades, before we started vaping. If, like me, you are in that group, considerable cardiopulmonary damage has already been done. The odds are pretty good, barring worse damage to your body from some other cause, that this will eventually cause or contribute to your demise. Vaping will not magically cure that damage.

It is widely believed that if we stop smoking cigarettes, our lives will be prolonged. Former smokers seem to live longer, healthier lives than they might, had they continued to smoke to the bitter end. This may even be proven but I have no desire to read or quote medical research, here.

My personal hope is that vaping does less cumulative damage to the system than smoking. I want to continue to feed my addiction to nicotine and continue to indulge my hand-to-mouth behavioral habits without many of the proven evil effects of inhaling tobacco smoke. I know that my smoker's cough has improved (but NOT been cured) over my 5 months of vaping. I feel as if I have "more wind" and better endurance.

OTOH, I'm also certain that I've chosen a replacement habit that has UNKNOWN long term health effects. There has been no meaningful research, the habit simply hasn't been around long enough. Inhaling vaporized PG/VG, nicotine and a variety of flavorings into the lungs on a daily basis is NEVER going to be proven healthy EXCEPT in comparison to tobacco smoke.

If health and longevity are your sole concerns:
Stop smoking and DON'T start vaping.
-OR-
Use vaping to get yourself off cigarettes and then STOP vaping.

If you don't smoke, why vape?

even though there is just nicotene in them are you still at risk of disease such as cancer or heart attack?

Depending on who you ask. You will not find anyone talking negative about vaping here if someone does they are considered "ANTZ" and using "scare tactics "

And even if it doesn't cause cancer
NICOTINE CAN FACILITATE THE PROGRESSION AND METASTASIS OF TUMORS INITIATED BY TOBACCO Our earlier results indicated that nicotine could induce invasion and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in cultured lung, breast and pancreatic cancer cells. This study demonstrates for the first time that administration of nicotine either by i.p. injection or through over-the-counter dermal patches can promote tumor growth and metastasis in immunocompetent mice. These results suggest that while nicotine has only limited capacity to initiate tumor formation, it can facilitate the progression and metastasis of tumors pre-initiated by tobacco carcinogens. http://www.plosone.org/article/info:doi ... ne.0007524

There is plenty of discussion of the negatives of vaping around here. Being a combustion-free way to deliver nicotine is simply not one of the down-sides of vaping.... :glare:

Both of those links refer to nicotine as causing "lung disease"--how does nicotine cause lung disease, Brad?? Do you think maybe they are confusing nicotine use with it's most common FORM, cigarette smoking--you know the thing that most of USED TO DO and probably would still be doing if not for vaping???

And even if it doesn't cause cancer

So you admit that nicotine doesn't cause cancer.

In other words, if you already have cancer, it is probable that nicotine won't make it better.

Bradley hates vaping and nicotine and doesn't believe that many of us use 0 nicotine.
People who don't use his cold turkey method he has no respect for and counters that vaping is a poor choice.
C.B.

Yep, an anti with 9 posts, just hanging around to confuse people looking for a better method to successfully break away from smoking.
