I've been reading on the net and on this forum for most of the day and I'm completely confused. I've read through the stickys and read on sites to figure out what to buy, watched videos, ect... but I'm still confused.

First, Who to buy from... what to buy??? I've read here that many orders don't get filled or that you cannot find cartridges and parts when you need them.

How much to buy upfront (cartridges, batteries) ect? What the difference is in VP and PG? If the goal is to wean off nicotine would I need to use the refillable cartridges? Anyone try to go cold turkey off of the nicotine? I've read some of the side affects and don't want to over do the nicotine.

Also, after getting SOOO excited, believing I had found a miracle to quit smoking I read that e-cigs could be banned in the US??? I don't understand why. Is this a stupid investment to make right now? I was ready actually to order today, but I'm more and more confused. Would it be possible to order a very large quantity of supplies at one time just incase??

I would greatly appreciate any help, I'm so darned confused!!!

I'm a 2 1/2 pack per day of ultra lights smoker.

Hi kaymar,
Welcome to the forum.
I will try to answer some of your questions.
First of all many will suggest this one or that one, it will all come down to what fits your needs.

Who to buy from... what to buy???
There are so many different types and variations available I suggest you visit the review section of the forum and watch some video reviews to determine what will best suit your needs.
Also visit the suppliers forums to make an informed decision as to who to go with for what you want.

How much to buy upfront (cartridges, batteries) ect? What the difference is in VP and PG?

I would make sure I had at least one backup atomizer, some not all starter kits comes with two. If you plan on using e-lquid instead of prefilled carts, you will save money as it is cheaper to refill your carts. In this case I would order 5 or 10 blank carts to start, you can always replace the filler (more on that another time).

VG is vegetable glycerine it can be used in place of PG Propylene Glycol. Propylene glycol is what is most commonly used in E-liquid. It is what gives you the vapor. In rare cases people can have an allergic reaction to PG. If this ever be the case, then VG based E-liguid is available. VG in itself is a thicker more viscous liquid and requires some thinning to get it to wick properly. VG tends to produce thicker fog, but has been known to reduce the flavor or the
E-liquid.

If the goal is to wean off nicotine would I need to use the refillable cartridges? Anyone try to go cold turkey off of the nicotine? I've read some of the side affects and don't want to over do the nicotine.

You can get E-lquid in different strengths, either by buying prefilled carts or bottled E-lquid. If the goal is to wean yourself off nicotine, it depends on the type of cigarette you smoked and how often. I would perhaps suggest starting out with 18mg/ml liquid. Many feel that this is enough to satisfy their cravings. Then reduce your levels as you like.

Yes as a matter of fact I went cold turkey off of nicotine using only zero Nic E-lquid. I still had cravings, but by being able to vape and mimmick the act of smoking I found it to be a very tolerable withdrawal period. The worst part was over in one week.

I would not worry about overdosing on nicotine with an E-cig. Unless you drink the E-lquid or wash your hands with it, you should be fine. Just remember to keep it all away from children, if it is ingested it, it could be fatal in this manner.

Is this a stupid investment to make right now?

IMHO there is no such thing as a stupid investment when you are investing in yourself.

I read that e-cigs could be banned in the US???

The idea of a FDA Ban has been looming over us for some time now. Though some of the larger companies have had their orders seized in customs, most are still getting through. Plus, if you are intent on weaning off of nicotine, and still want to vape, you can make you own DIY zero nicotine liquid at home for pennies to the dollar.

Would it be possible to order a very large quantity of supplies at one time just incase??

Many people, including myself have been hording and stocking up as much as they can afford to. Yes you can order as much as you can afford, you can even order direct from China should you so choose.

Hope this helps to answer some of your questions kaymar.
Good luck in finding what works for you.
Happy Vaping-Nic.

You don't want to place a HUGE order for your first order. What happens if you do not like the juice and end up with 10 bottles of it? Now you have to deal with the hassle of selling it. What happens if you spend a pile of money on tons of spare parts for an e-cig and then decide you do not like that model of e-cig?

Don't worry, this stuff is not going anywhere anytime soon. As long as you are a member of this forum you WILL be able to find what you need, when you need it.

Place a reasonable sized order and try it out, then go from there.

Now, I normally would not do this as I think an e-cig is a fairly personal thing and it is something you need to decide what is best for you yourself. Despit that I am going to offer a suggestion that is pretty specific. I have developed so much confidence in a particular product that I really do not see how you could end up disapointed with it.

I suggest you should buy a Janty Dura-C Set, A PCC, A USB Passthrough and 3 to 5 different flavors of liquid in the 10ml size. You will probably want some extra carts but Janty does not sell them unfilled so you can try another flavor or two that way too.

That is more than enough to get you up and going while you sort through the forum and the wide selection of whats what and where to buy.

Thanks a million guys. I was looking at the Janty Dura C as you posted Waldo. They do not sell a starter kit so what exactly do I need to order. And what the heck is a pcc and a usb passthrough.

I agree Happily, I want it yesterday! I'm so frustrated that I can't figure out what I need to order. I actually got a friend and her husband excited about e-cigs this am and when we started researching it, we just became more and more confused.

Thanks, I'm almost ready to order. Looks like tentative shipping is tomorrow. I'm looking at the cartridges and the flavors now. It looks like they have banana, rum, and vanilla flavors. Not sure how I will like those. Coffee maybe. Which ones are tobacco flavored besides the cammel? When I purchase the liquid, where do I get refillable cartridges or can the prefilled cartridges be refilled?

The carts seem to be limited to just the cml which is obviously supposed to mimic camel cigarettes and RY4 which is a tobbaco flavor with carmel in it. I am not sure about RY3 but it sounds like it could be a tobacco blend flavor.

In the juices MLB is supposed to mimic marlboro brand and there is also shag tobacco which would be a pretty generic tobaccoish flavor as well as French pipe and MLB french pipe.

The selection is not the greatest but it should be able to get you through a week or two while you sift through the forum and find somewhere to buy more liquid and blank carts.

Yes you can refill carts. It is explained in Spikeys video that is linked in my signature. It is about an hour long and really informative. Well worth watching.
