You can find a youtube video for just about all of the e-cig's. If you want more information in one place try this site..
GrimmGreenIndustries Also don't make it too complicated for yourself. Buy an affordable mod with a good battery life that you can live with. I quit using the patch as well but wasn't satisfied...missed the smoking sensation. My first e-cig was a 902 from Modern Vapor and then found that the battery life wasn't good enough so I went to mod similar to the e-go and still use it once in a while. My favorite mod is the super mini from Electronic Cigarettes and E-Liquid - Great Lakes Vapor. I have gone through several mods before this one. Hope this helps!

Hello and welcome! I am also a newbie, and can relate to your confusion about what to get. I first went online (without benefit of finding this forum at first) and got two starter kits from GreenSmoke and V2. I had no idea what to get so I just jumped in with those two based on reviews I saw elsewhere. I've quickly learned from this forum that there are other brands....definitely look at the suppliers list on here.........that I plan to try next that are considered much better than the two I have. Yes, it is a bit daunting and you will spend some money! But once you get acclimated to something you like, that's when I think you will start to save. I'm in NJ, where a pack of cigs cost a little over $8, so for me right now it's a tradeoff. Good luck to you and keep posting here!

Greetings from one newbie to another! I have zero experience with PV's, but have my starter setup on the way right now. I know just how you feel. The best advice I can give you at this time is: Read, Read, Read! Watch videos and MOST of all, ask questions on this forum! The people here are absolutely awesome. No matter the question, you will get tons of help!

Hi Snowdove, welcome to ECF! The important thing to do when deciding what PV to try, and when reading the forums is to be patient and gather as much info as you can. Everyone here is extremely helpful, so never hesitate to keep asking questions. You are correct in saying that a 510 system is a good start. I would suggest purchasing a 510 starter kit, which comes with everything you'll need. You can either use an atomizer&tank (liquid filled cartridge attached to a heating element) system or a carto (cartomizer) system, in which the liquid is put directly into the carto, because they use the same batteries. If you buy a starter kit, make sure you learn how to use it, and read more than you think is enough about it. Lastly, you'll need to buy some juice. There are literally hundreds of vendors. I suggest Backwoods Brew, Vermillion River, and Highbrow. On their websites you can order some samples of liquid. Try 80% PG/20% VG blend at 18mg (nicotine level) for starters. Keep reading and asking questions. Good luck!
Ditto, never stop researching, asking or learning. It may sound like vague advice, but in the end you will be grateful for it.

Hey, I am new and I live in the Tampa Bay area.

It's hard to find a good physical store with people who are knowledgeable on e-cigs. I have tried most of the 'head shops' thought the area. Most do not have personnel who are knowledgeable on e-cigs beyond the very basics, stuff that I am sure you have already read. That, and their prices are usually much more than the online stores. It seems most places are still trying to cash in on the novelty on e-cigs, rather than taking them seriously. I have heard good things about Totally Wicked, but they a quite a drive, all the way down the bradenton.

I ordered my first kit from MyVaporStore.com, and the shipment arrived super fast. I ordered it on a Monday, in the evening, it was shipped Tuesday and in my mailbox on Thursday. They do not have the most expansive of selections, but the shipping is super fast.

Aside from the whole ordering online thing, is you also want to meet people in person, check us out at Florida Vapors Club

Hi! I am a newbie too and am waiting for my starter kit to get here too.

About 3 weeks ago, I bought a disposable e-cig at the gas station by my house because the hubby and I said we were goign to stop smoking. That lasted not even a week with my thought that I truly did enjoy vaping more than smoking cigarettes, but the taste of that disposable just plain sucked. I knew there had to be a better option than that thing.

So through google, I found this site and asked what should I get. Through peoples suggestions, there not being a brick and mortar store for 3 hours around me and my being very .... in researching like mad, I (personally) have come to the conclusion that 510's are very versatile and so I ordered an EGo with Dual Cartomizer.

Go onto the vendor websites (there are link to the ECF preferred by clicking at the top where it says Forum Suppliers) and look and read their sites. Quite a few of them have youtube videos on how to refill, how to clean, etc.

Read the forums here and soak up everything you can.
Buy something that you can always change something here or there on it if you don't care for the set up (ie tips, carto, battery size) and buy different liquids and different strengths so you can figure out what you need.
Once you have figured out(hopefully over a week or so) that you like it or not, buy back up items like more cartos, attys, batteries, tips, etc so you dont' get stuck.....at least this is what I am planning to do once mine gets here!

See you around on the board!
