Recently noticed one of the three 900mah eGo batteries in my rotation isn't charging properly.

When charging, the red charge light never goes out. More worrisome is it gets quite warm while charging. Still works well, and holds a charge about like the others. It's not the charger. I have 3 chargers, and they all are the same with this one battery.

Could be that it's simply unable to quite reach the cut off voltage as read by the chargers anymore?

Or maybe I'm just trying to justify buying some of the new eGo VV batteries:facepalm:

I don't think I'd use it any more. Depending on where you got it, you can probably exchange it. My ego batts have been going strong for months, it's my riva batts (from LF) that have been acting up like that.

OOps, just saw where you have a 14 day warranty.. oh well, they aren't very expensive and usually last a lot longer.

@Big Screen -- I just recieved one of those ego 900 mah VV batts. While I can not discuss the longevity (arrived today) of the batt what I can say is that I am impressed with what I see so far. Sure it is more costly than the standard Ego/Riva batts but the three voltage options are nice. I am not really sure I will ever set it at the 3.2 or 3.7 since the 4.2 w/a Boge 2.0 hit the spot nicely. The added light show is pretty tight too. I like the batt meter with 5 bars and it takes the guess work out of how much batt charge you have left. The batt level also blinks during the charge process giving you a visual on how full the batt is in the cycle. The Red (3.2v), Purple (3.7v) and Blue (4.2v) LED indicator ring is also a nice touch to show button activation while giving a visual of selected voltage. I have many MODs at my disposal but still enjoy and use the eGo/Riva platform (mainly for stealth and when pulling out a MOD just won't cut it). So if you are looking for an excuse to replace that "hot" batt then go buck wild and give one of these a shot. FYI - I picked mine up at nHaler. I am not sure who else has them but I purchased it this past weekend as one of those "what the hell" buys when I was picking up some other goodies on his site. Happy vapes and good luck with the batt.

Think I'm going to do just that Liv2Ski. Do you know whether or not these are a JoyeTech product? Sent a inquiry to GotVapes, so I should know soon.

I really like the idea of the remaining charge indicator. Was all set to grab a few of the 1100mah eGo's with the lcd indicator from Smoke Anywhere For Pennies, but then the VV volt popped up! The vendor says that the 1100mah are JoyeTech, but of course not variable voltage.

Big Screen below is the link on where I picked mine up. I am not sure of the manufacturer. Notice that if you get the passthrough at 650 mah you do not have the batt gauge. I am willing to bet if you PM Drew he will tell you who the maker of the batt is. Best of luck and I look at it this way----- any money I spend on this hobby I would have ...... away on smokes :) That is what I tell my wife and I am sticking to it. If you do pick one up I imagine the other eGo batts in your collection will probably get dusty!!!

Good thing I'm saving money not buying analogs. Just dropped another hundred or so for various ecig stuff:vapor:

The VV eGo does look cool, but I've been using LR DC cartos and don't know if I really want more voltage. After strapping on a an eGo DCMC for the first time tonight, I don't think I can take any more vapor!

So I added a couple of the 1100mah eGo's with the lcd charge and vape count indicator.
